That large black flake looked way better than I thought it would. I think that would look awesome with a lighter green to look like a leopard frog. Awesome video

A little bit of super glue on the keeper when you push the trailer on, and another drop right at where the hook exits the bait will make them last a long time!

I thought so too! Looking back one more quick stir may have suspended it better right before the shot… spreads it out better in the baits, but that may also just be me nit pickin :) Thanks for watching my friend!
Everything in nature has a random pattern. That large flake was awesome in the frogs. I can finally contribute something 😂. I love to use clackers on my buzz frogs but I also fish a lot of dirty water down here.
Glad you liked it! Clacker is a good call - I winder if they make them in various sizes? Would need a downsized one for this size wire form. I may have to look!

Man that Apricot with the orange hologram flakes would be an unbelievable fluke color for flukes. Redfish would eat that up! That second bass hit was cool.
I was thinking a bluegill belly paddle tail. But I’m a freshwater guy up in MN. It’s a great color!

Killer application as well! Apricot in that same Gourd… I bet that would be tasty! Gourd may well be my new favorite orange, dynamite pigment!

Good stuff, thanks man! I’d reduce the saturation a bit in the Pump/WM next time… my 1/2 test before the video mislead me a bit, LOL. I get 15 is right on to get more of the WM to show. But that Gourd… holy cow, what a color. Definitely my favorite orange thus far… like hands down!

Love the Buzz-Keel molds!! I use the 3/8oz ones quite a bit. Great video as usual and nice catches 🤙
Thx man! It was a toss up for sure… 3/8 or 1/4 - I knew both would be close to what I wanted, but that darn 1/8 for river smallies just looked too good, so I opted for the smaller. I got some 3/8 0.050 wire forms in, filed out the channel a bit, so hopefully the 1/4 “swims” as well with the big blade!
@@SDGCustomLurecraft I have no self control and bought both molds lol. The smaller ones work really well but I havnt tried with the bigger blade on them. Just a little tuning of the top wire and you can get them to run straight and true
Tip!!!! I do t think anyone has done a video on!!! For that mold… if you pour enough of them? It gets old cutting the wire form. I figured out where my wire keeps hitting at on the mold. Put it under my drill press and just took enough off on each side of the mold to match the rest of the indent for the wire. Caution!! Only drill out what you need to. Because then your wire form might be able to move a little more in the cavity (gravity). Then No more cutting the wire every time you pour.
Yup, definitely an option!
Good thing about making your own baits is you can re-melt them and go again

Another great video my fellow Adam. Just fished a smallmouth tournament yesterday.. 98 degrees, with heat under it got about 104-105... but the bite was great early... caught a situation 21 inch (5+ lb) smalljaw to start the day on top water, sadly not a buzz bait... not my strong suit

Great looking build. Really like the color of the bottom. Do you k ow why they can’t cut the wire forms to fit the mold? I actually stopped pouring the buzz keel because it was frustrating to have to cut every wire form. Love the way they run though. Love your videos brother!

With the 1/8 you should be able to thread the frog over the lead body

I have a question or a challenge. I pour my own jigs and modify my molds as well. I’ve been trying to come up with a way to get a bigger flat head screw type skirt collar on one of the old molds that has the small ball skirt collar. I like the way the bigger taller skirt collar helps the skirt puff out more. I’ve used a Dremel and made the ball style collar bigger before. Just curious about making the reverse flat head screw skirt keeper. I have some ideas but have not dove into it yet.
I suppose you can do just about anything with enough patience and a dremel!

Thanks man! The 1/4oz take a C, I believe. The 1/8 takes an E… normal, large size is an A, it’s the one in between.
Can I ask where you get your lead from. After watching your channel I think I would like to make some stuff for fun fishing.
Sure thing! I found my current lead on Etsy. Its been pretty good. Not as clean as other stuff I've used, but FAR better than some bigger online names that sent me garbage.

@@michaelbarbieri9871 not stupid at all my friend! Look for “clean, pure, soft” lead. Some will say “twice cleaned” which is a plus. Pure just means it’s not mixed with tin or other stuff. Soft is similar to pure… no hardener metals added. The pictures of the lead should show nice, silver bricks. If it’s off-color, almost like a rust color, it will has impurities and (in my experience) make a mess of your lead pot. Hope that helps!
