Dan Sheehan kicked the ball out of the ruck, clear and obvious on replays, no debate. Getting away with that are the small margins that make a big difference. Etzebeth did the same later in the game and was called back for it.

No, he thinks that Ryan passes it flat, and it bounces backwards off Porter’s right thigh before he catches it. Porter is standing perpendicular to the gain line, so he thinks half of him is offside and half not. The camera angle doesn’t allow a clear judgement of whether the pass was flat or not, but the ref was level with the play, so you have to go with that. I think a lot of refs let marginal passes go these days anyway, so not a big deal, and it’s a moot point, because the ball was kicked out of the run in any case. Not worth arguing about

Being in front yourself is not an infingment. The ball has to go backward from the hands of the passer, that's all. It is great pass
