Biased of course, but man they really don’t have many bad jerseys. Always have such a clean look.
I became a Penguin fan when they joined the league in 1967. A few years back, my brothers and sister bought me a jersey in the style they wore when I was in the 7th through 10th grade, which coincided with the first four years my favorite player at the time was with the team. So of course they ordered the jersey with the number and name of Jean Pronovost. I liked the logo with the round, black ring encircling the skating penguin.
I'd love if they went back to the blue tbh, they never will but I liked those jerseys

The 2023 winter classic one is so clean
Penguins fan here. I got into hockey in the late 90s, so when they were wearing the black gradient stripe jersey as their main ones. As a result, I absolutely loooove the Robopenguin jerseys and wouldn't mind it at all if it made a comeback (in a more prominent role than the Reverse Retros were, I mean). I'm not the biggest fan of their first Reebok era jerseys, but I don't mind them. I was very glad when they switched back to their classic jerseys. I actually really like the 2 color black and yellow Stadium Series jersey (and I loved the NHL Color Rush series as well, have a couple of Steelers jerseys from that run). Contrary to you, I've never been a fan of powder blue as a main color (be it NHL, NFL, NBA or MLB), but it somehow just works on their 2008 Winter Classic. I also love how they made the 2011 one essentially a Reverse Retro, flipping the dark and powder blue and taking and old, unused (on a jersey) and making it the primary crest. Sure, they might have overdone it a little with the striping, but it still looks great. And that latest one is just pure beauty!
As for the wordmark jerseys, I don't mind them at all. I prefer the white original ones to the powder blues. I was never a big fan of the 'Gin and Juice' jerseys until the first reverse retros, and when they did the black version I absolutely loved it. Somehow I think it works better in the Adidas template than the CCM one.
Their yellow jerseys are alright, I think. Don't mind them, but I was happy when they changed to different thirds.
Don't know why I wrote all this, not sure if I had a point! But yes... pretty awesome jersey history overall, no real missteps to speak of, but a few (I'm looking at you, Reeboks!) that were uninteresting, but those have a couple of Cups to make up for that
I love the Penguin with the hockey stick on the jersey. I hate the Robo penguin they came out with in 1993 :(
Loved that first powder blue jersey. Probably around 15 years ago, I bought the first season jersey from Ebbets Field and it had #9 on the sleeves and the back. Since Hall of Famer Andy Bathgate wore #9 in the Penguins' first season, I had to buy it. Still one of my favourite hockey jerseys.
One of the best of all time! What colour are the laces? I remember the ccm vintage ones sold in the early 2000's had dark blue laces with baby blue dots
As a Pittsburgh sports fan the main home and away must always be the black and yellow but id love to see a light blue third jersey after Sid retires
6:21 - This is the best jerseys they have ever had, and I love more the "Flying Penguin / Robo Penguin" logo more. These jerseys looked both modern & classic at same time.
They had attitude but again professional manner = balanced jerseys. And the changing of colors from yellow to gold with sharper white was PERFECT.
Why they changed these I just can't accept. I even wish there was a 3rd jersey where they switched the OG Penguins logo with the "Robo Penguin" and vice versa on shoulders.
5:25 - Ah these are the 2nd best they have ever worn. They speak volumes and also makes me remember the dominance of Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr & Ron Francis!

I really preferred the more muted gold style from Crosby's early seasons. I understand why they went back to the marigold color, but it looks way too similar to Boston's jerseys.
I love the late 1970's blue penguins jerseys.
I'll be the first to admit the Skating Penguin logo is onjectively better by far, but I have a sentimental attachment to the Robo Penguin thanks to my dad, and a relative in Pittsburgh sending him a sweatshirt with a variant of that logo on it. If I ever join the Discord, I'll post that alongside my admittedly small collection of other Pens merch. (I buy a lot for other sports as well as non-sports stuff, so I have limits.)
The Robo Pen Reverse Retro is actually a minor point of controversy between me and my mom - I asked for it for my birthday (which is right up against Christmas) last year, and then barely wore it because I determined they weren't likely to reissue any version again because of Mario. I basically treat it as a collectors item...whereas my mom views it as clothing, and expects me to wear it semi-regularly, especially if they're playing. I don't normally wear Pens merch outside of weekends unless they're playing a national game, and because I'm paranoid of ruining a jersey I know I'll have a hard time replacing, I usually just kept wearing the Skating Pen hoodie I bought on my own dime. She thinks that mea s I don't enjoy having it, on some level, when the reality is I want to make it last as long as possible but don't trust things like my own sloppy eating habits.
That dark navy winter classic one is such an underrated jersey. They I sometimes wish they'd do a throwback to that 70s era where it was more blue. I think it was the mid to late seventies.
Personally for me, as a pens fans since I was 4 in '08, the gold is just a nostalgic look for me. I love the current marigold, and would love to see it outline the penguin and have the 2 tone blue jersey. I would love to see the pens in blue again. Also the 2023 winter classic pirates P jersey looked awesome. Would love to see that as our alternate jersey or see another rendition of it.

The old-school two-tone blues were fantastic. Need to go back to these or the Robin's Egg blue uniforms permanently. 45 years of black & gold is enough. 😮💨😒😴😴😴
Mitchell and Ness made a Blue 70s jersey that is officially licensed but for whatever reason they only made Dave Shultz. They are extremely rare to come by and rather pricy when one does pop up
There needs to be a retro/3rd of the late 70's blue Jersey. It was always a great look and deserves recognition as Pittsburgh's initial colour scheme.
as a pens fan I love the 2010s "unpopular" jerseys. They just give nostalgia of prime Geno and Sid
I think they should stay the current colors of black and gold. Though I would love if they incorporated some blue into it. Like add a blue stripe with the black and gold. It would be a nod to their original look as well as the city of Pittsburgh.
The green in the collar of that navy Penguins alternate means it is an Indo-Edge rather than a full blown authentic. Basically a half step between the Adidas fan jerseys we get today (which while nicer than the Reebok premiers, the branding of them as “authentics” has misled the consumer for the entire Adidas run) and the on ice authentics.
I'm from Scranton so the WB Pens play about 15 mins from my house. Considering season tickets this year

I never understand why some people don’t like the yellow jerseys. I think they are GORGEOUS. Also, I didn’t really like any of the Vegas gold jerseys personally, and I hated the stadium series jersey, as well as the Wilkes Barre one that is monochromatic. Other than that, every jersey this team has had is beautiful. Possibly the best jersey history of any NHL team
Marigold looks a touch garish on fans in public but on the players on the ice they always pop. My partner adores her Vancouver marigolds and Pittsburgh's 80's style is very similar to those.
Grew up in a Pens family so naturally I love thar black and gold. Grew up remembering the robopen and it's my favorite sports logo of all time. Also grew up with early Vegas gold so I have a big soft spot for that. Sad I've yet to see Robo in person but I will make that happen some day.
Interesting trivia literally right off the bed, I never knew that about the owner hating the name Penguins. The script does add to the majesty of that original jersey, I like it a lot.

Both Penguins Reverse Retro jerseys I do like the RR 2.0 jersey better than the RR 1.0 jersey since they brought back the Robo Penguin 🐧
Love the blue jerseys, hated the darker gold color.
My winter classic Fleury jersey is my go-to for Pens games. It usually sticks out a little more in the sea of black and gold
The original double blue jersey is based on the Toronto Argos jerseys (CFL Football). I believe the story is that the original owner’s wife loved the Argos colour scheme and they adopted it.
I love'em all. I own 9 Penguins jerseys but I had to come see your collection. oh man! My fav would be the blue jersey natural shaped/plump penguin because all the other skating penguins are buff penguins.

That striped Robo Penguin jersey is incomplete without Darius Kasparaitis on it. I might be wrong but I think the jersey you liked is associated with the X Generation Penguins. Regardless when you showed it the first player I thought of was Martin Straka.

The Penguins didn't wear that gold jersey in 1992, so the patch is historically inaccurate.
I do hate Pittsburgh, but that WBS one (not roidpenguin) really is excellent.
I also prefer the old gold over today's "gold." I say "gold" because in my opinion... it's yellow. It isn't gold. And it looks too similar to Boston. I loved the jerseys you loved that Sid wore in his early career. Shiny, metallic and actually GOLD.

I was always puzzled how a city in the US of A where some of the people from the area will ask me when I would visit they make jokes about Canadians things like Don't we use dog sleds for transportation some are not sure where Toronto is..... etc etc

Baby Blue Penguins jerseys are my favorite, followed by the darker blue.
While im not a wordmark jersey fan in general I think Pittsburgh's look some of the worst. The color on the light blue is great but I just doesnt fit the jersey

Boy theres a lot of terrifc pens jersey. Didnt really see many i dont like. I think the worst is this past stadium jersey. I think the crosby era is kind of bland and a classic.
Its a shame, after two championships in a row, to change the logo. Being a rich owner doesn't mean your smart.
