But 2008 was the initiation of the Real Marvel Wave coming, what you have back in the 80s from Marvel? Comics and Cheap Toys? Imagine the nostalgia to someone grew up in the 2000s when the world was bringing this characters to real life. Everyone's nostalgic memories are their best in their own mind.
The size issue continues to be the deal-breaker for me which is a shame cuz I had a great diorama planned for him and a couple of other specific armors. I suppose if SS has a 30% sale six months from now, I might pick one up and do a solo display but otherwise, it's a hard pass for me.
I feel like the helght makes sense as he’s standing on a flat piece of metal in the mark 1. In the suits after theres more tech under his suit like the reactor, tread, and what not.
True, i imagine the might be going off of models probably provided by the studios for the full body shots. They go for looks over reality which is why the mark 7 cgi model has long legs and so does the hot toys version.
Honestly almost didn't buy this because it seems too small.. however, now that I have it in hand I have to say those reservations went out the window. Feels and looks amazing. Happy to have the Mk85 and now this iron man to represent that fandom for me. Only thing that annoys me is the whirring noise from the motor. It's a cool feature but I wish it worked separately to the light up feature.
I love the design of the Iron Man Mark I. The 2.0 version was my first Hot Toys figure. I wish the head sculpt and height of the figure was updated. However, with that said, I'll still pick up this new version because of the diecast pieces.

The MKV MKVII MKVII warmachine MK1 blew away all of their plastic versions, this one does not. If u have the 2.0 I think it's a pass or wait for a discount.

Nice viedo, as always, Jedha! Looking at his eyes, isn't the right eye decal (our pov) a tiny bit off? Not something you'll see anyway since most will display it with visor down! So, have you pre-ordered the barebone Resurections Neo? :P
Apparently flames are more vibrant colored in a galaxy far, far away. The height difference doesn't bother me since I'm pretty sure Tony didn't have enough scraps to add in height in a cave in the desert. Back at his home he could take care of that pesky issue with the ensuing editions of his armour. I can't wait to get mine. (FYI, IMAX debuted back in the 1970's).
Just put the two Tony stark heads together side by side with any recent Tony stark head. The mk1 tony head is smaller it's clearly on the different scale. The current diecast figures are already taller than they should be, all we want is a consistent scale of the armors.
I Have the 2013 2.0 version. I like the paint applications and detail on the old version are way better than this new version. I don't care about the diecast pieces. I don't think it was necessary to add them. This reissue is a nice piece but if you have the older 2.0 there's no need to get this one imo.
I’m new to HT and am focusing heavily on Star Wars however today I just received Iron Man Mark 85 and I am blown away with the heft, level of details and it’s presence so much so iv just ordered the Mark 50 and War Machine Mark IV, think I’m going to have a couple of shelves dedicated to Iron Nan diecast figures especially with the upcoming Mark VI with gantry….my wallet hurts
I had this charging from sideshow yesterday but I put it on payment plan because I wanted to watch reviews first. I never owned the other releases but I do think this is worth the money. I want this to go next to the 85 (the first and last armor). If I didn't have a prime 1 statue to pay for I could have this by this week, but this has to wait for now.

You seem disappointed in it. For someone not buying it I feel I would be. To reuse the old out of date sculpt is a big bummer. And the size is a big let down. Shouldn’t it be big and bulky compared to iron man figures? Compared to people in film the suit was pretty big. Next to newer releases of ironman figures it looks like a baby ironman. I would be bummed out if I was a ironman collector. Feels like a low effort by hot toys, using ironman fan base for a big sale
Such an odd review. You pretty much criticized it throughout - and justifiably so - but then end with a “You gotta get it!”. Makes no sense to me. In fact, watching this review made me glad I did not preorder it because now I don’t want it!

I’m new to hot toys so all these Iron Man hot toys releasing is good for me. One of my earliest memories in my life was seeing Iron Man in 2008.

First IMAX movie was in 1971, so yeah, it was around in 2007.

I think the headsculpt is a total step backwards of what we have seen in rdj sculpts

Honestly as far as the height goes it's actually more accurate than the other releases. Robert downey junior is 5'8"

475 usd ! To be honest, for that price I’d be happy with a decent 1/4 scale statue - think it would look better with the Mk2-7😅
I passed on this figure and I am glad because I want the new wasp and ant man figure since I don't have any on my collection. I rather get the Mark V.
