    All of the pop-up rifts appear outside of the inner area that has the portal. I like to barricade them to the outer halls to get overhead traps in to help kill them.

    Interesting, have yet to see the use of War Machines on this map. You can turn on Par Time in the options (makes it visible). Also, you can wall at the bottom of the stairs at the rift room, might save some money.

    yeah this does not work
    After failing many times, I instead routed everything on the corridors around the rift to one spot, and used arrow traps, maulers, tar, lightning spike traps, fully upgraded laser on the roof and mazed orcs through them, and filled in the rest of the roof spots with snow cannons. Worked like a dream

      Yeah a killbox in the right or left corner makes this map easy as piss.

    You can just barricade the outside as well and lead them to the left of where the 3rd gate is at. They're all funneled to a spot with a low ceiling. Just double barricade it off to the wall, use double ice saws, ice dart spitters, grinders w/ slow, arcane butterfly windows and residual tar traps before each section of ice saws. Double up on the barricades so they can't get though when the the fire elementals destroy them.

    I didn't think about blocking the rift. Great advice. On my first run I got up to wave 6 and they swarmed the rift and it was game over. Also I did the 1:14 tactic - DEF DO NOT DO THAT. Funnel them to one side with the ice and spring traps. I also prefer the explosive catapult. This map is kinda ehh. I hate the spawning indoors enemies. Defeats the purpose of an otherwise great game.

    My barricades always seem to take a beating from nearby dynamite archers or cyclops mages.

    Wonder if something changed, tried your technique and once the third wave comes the ogres and trolls just target the barricade on that side no matter what. Either a bug or something that's been patched (PC)

      Just 5 skulled mission using his barricade methods (credits rolling, cheaper traps). Placement was I believe same as his, but they always pathed around to where first special wave came from pretty quick, which was fine. Of note for me is that I didn't encounter the grenade gnolls. PC as well. Couple barricades were like 1% in the final wave so put some extra behind them. Added about 6 fire archers next to Rift as well if you're also going for cheaper traps.

      I'm wondering this also. Playing on series x and orcs trolls etc just auto target barricades it's frustrating I've done like 3 methods and it's all the same result by round 3 they tart to auto target the barricades.

      @@Matthew-Smith one thing I've heard of is even if you give the full square worth of space, the AI might think otherwise when congested. Also I messed up a handful of times and was a click off and died a bunch. Still, could be a ported bug.

      If you create a traffic jam by stun-locking or repeatedly freezing orcs in place the orcs will eventually seek another route, even if it means breaking barricades.

      Yeah, gotta let them keep moving through the traps - if you create a traffic jam with stun or freeze they will start breaking stuff.

    Hey man motto. I realyy enjoyed your guides as i have recently purchased omd3 on steam.
    I like to ask why you use floor spike traps in some of your maps since you said that they were d tier cause they dont even hit faster orcs on rift lord.

      =v=! i just remember the firling are OP af , they run thru all the traps and explosion all the fences end up using arcane brim for those assholes

    Why didnt you put regular archers into the middle? They can do a lot of dmg in big numbers.

      That's what's great about OMD - there's no One Right Way to do anything - do what works for you! To bring Archers I'd have to leave something behind and this is what works for me.
      Also, Archers are very vulnerable to Dynamite archers, especially when grouped in a small space.

      @@robertlyon Three months later, but I kind of miss some of the OMD2 things that were left behind like the trinket that healed/revived minions - made them a whole lot more valuable since you could patch them up as you go along. Hopefully they might look into re-adding some of these things in the future, assuming OMD3 gets more updates that is
      Great video by the way, really helped give some insight into additional ways to tackle things :)

      On Apprentice you need to be a bit more aggressive because slower-moving enemies makes it hard to beat Par Time. Keep an eye on the mini-map and start pushing when it looks like the wave is coming to an end.

      @@robertlyon I have now completed it using a different method achieving a 5 star War Mage difficulty.
      I found a really cool way to do it that no videos have shown. Obviously it's too hard to explain but it worked beautifully.
      The update makes the barricades weaker so you really end up doubling them up in a few spots to keep those pesky Orcs where you want as they can spill out of the gaps and ruin the day.
      The fun thing is the big pink boss at the end created an inside rift right on top of my blocks of Barracades so all the cobolt runners were stuck inside the wood, trapped, helpless and scared..quite funny actually :-)

      they did say its gonna be exclusive for stadia for a while then be able for steam and stuff like that they might add characters and stuff but don't expect them to be to different from each other considering the already excisting once

      Because I was standing next to the rift which heals and replenishes mana.

    I just put the three barricades against the left side and all the fiends just walked right through them....This game is so buggy.
    I genuinely hate this sequel. It is way too hard for anyone to play with the minimal points it gives you and all the glitches and overpowered characters dont help.
    Spawning mountain trolls in droves isnt a challenge, its bullshit.
    I cannot possibly beat this unless I copy a specific strat. I tried many and they all failed because they just throw the hardest enemies at you

    I tried Stadia because of this Game. For 30 Minutes. What a shit Service. Doesnt even support 1440p. Ridiculous.

    Am i the only one who never bothers with war traps? make a single kill box on lvl 1 (saw launchers, barricades, saws) and pretty much job done on every lvl. 17k pays for plenty of barricades to get them into a single OP killbox. whole campaign is too easy.

      That's what has always been one of OMD's greatest strengths - there's no One Right Way to do anything! Do what works best for your playstyle and brings you the most enjoyment!
