    I love the old pictures! It saddens me though when old landmarks are torn down. I wish "old walls could talk"! Can you just imagine what they would say?!

    I just moved to Main Street a couple months ago. This was a very interesting seeing the history of the buildings I ride past daily, and of the street too. Looking forward to the festival in May 2016.

    I used to love driving to laurel to see my step sister at the Laurel Juvenile Detention Center. She had a penchant for shoplifting and hooking school. We would drive route 1 from DC and stop at the various not so friendly kkk gas stations along the way. Pass the junkyards and drive in and so on. Eventually she was rehabilitated and did not have to continue her career at numerous other jails in the area. I mean as long as we all telling criminal stories in Laurel.

    Richard, how much news do you have on bill and dick bromley "Hobbie House" back in the 60's, when slot cars was the craze? i have some of the slot cars i use to race there with some of my friends back in Laurel. interested ? Before that store, they started on main street with the hobbie shop. model cars, trains, plaines HO gauge race track. it was the start of something 1963-4 chris s. Tell Kevin, sorry to hear about mom and brother. say hey to pete too
