I love the comparison of fast cars to help the 90's mind comprehend the kind of power we can boost 4 cylinders to nowadays. Stacy David is still the man tho!! I have a couple old bottles of B&M trick shift that look exactly the same
There's one thing every time I watch this episode that makes me wonder. When the overdrive was hitting the crossmember, he jacked it up and moved it forward, which then meant he had to redrill holes to mount the transmission since it sat higher. Why not take the crossmember out...and flip it so the mount was on top...that would make up for the difference and no need to do the extra work
@@thecman26 twin turbos on an ls3 if you don't put much boost to it. If you want to push on it from everything I have read 750-800 is the limit of the bottom end. The 572 is built like a tank and can handle a lot more power than it makes in crate form.
Hard to believe the 572 was a beast back in the day. We have turbo'd 4 cylinder motors that can outrun those heavy engines now, but everyone has their own opinion about that.
lawnmowerdude but the horsepower numbers can be impressive. I know you’re not going to be able to get tremendous torque from a 4 banger, but it’ll definitely be a lot better in fuel mileage though
Yep, when you want to guzzle gas, accept no substitute. Never mind making even more power with more efficiency by going a different; throw money out the window! o.0
Yes but this thing looks a lot cooler than the new engines. And for something that is a weekend toy who cares. You're not driving this to the job everyday. And throw a few speed parts at this and see how mean it gets. It's built really strong and can handle a lot more.
Thank you so much for bringing these back!!!
The fact that they actually provide prices really blows my mind. So few places ever actually do that these days. I love it.
This man Stacey David is GRRRRRReat
Thank you for the uploads.
When he said "572" I spilled my pretzels all over myself and ran to the phone in a panic. I dunno who to call tho
I literally laughed at that part lol
Call 1998 when that engine debuted! LOL

You realize this first aired in 2004?
only 30 seconds into it, and already I'm getting a strong early 90's porno vibe..
Man now that's a beast of an engine.
572 ci = 9.374 litres.
I loved the intro (watching you crush that mini)those are junk anyway and I love Copperhead ❤️
I remember that Chey 572 thin few years later Dodge said ok hold my beer 🍻 with 1,000 hp hellephant crate motor . Chey still crying
Lol this 572 isn’t even stressing.
you do realize that this episode is at least 15 years old?
@@sj7624 you do realize it's not that Long ago right?
Back when Stacey loved to say "Now" every too often. He still does that to this day. LOL
What about the GM made a 637 ci bbc with the 5,125 " bore
Kaiser reminds me of something burt from tremors would own XD

572 was cool in its day. Very out dated now. A built ls3 will blow that 572 away.
Kinda not a fair comparison... Throw a blower or twin turbskis on this, yeah.... LS3 box stock vs 572 box stock and it not even close!

@19:53 ''the rear of the bed was shortened 6'' '' That's known as a Bob Tail.
This is a year after vid was made, but Monster transmissions makes a 700R-4 that'll easily handle the power from that motor
No Stacey, I can't see the rods or the pistons.....
How old is this show 572 been out for years.
This episode is at least 15-17 years old
The unofficial beginning of Sgt Rock .
Why didn't you use a 4L80e?
I swear I remember Jay Leno saying he had the first 572 in his old Buick.
Nope - the serial number is his birthday. His 55 Buick Roadmaster.
@Mr Sunshines jesus bro calm the fuck down little bitch
If I had a dollar for every time he said 'Now', I'd be able to afford to build my own Project Copperhead just from the proceeds.
What about the lsxr454 or the lsx376 b15
Neither one had been thought of in 2001
He mispoke. There are several big block chevy crate motors pumping out 800 -1000HP+ on pump gas with a warranty.
Today, yes.
2004 when this episode was published, no.
I’ve seen a 644 cid hemi !
did it come from the factory?
This has to be old. The 572 has been around for years now!
Yeah it’s probably 15 years old.
It was 2004.
where the never seize. never saw any of that.
Isn't this like 20 years old?
New Dodge demon engine stock 840 hp
But it's not a "stock" engine they added stuff on look it up, it's only "stock" cause it came out the factory that way
600HP 572
Single turbo 6.0L LSx "Hold my beer"

Those turbo 4s aren’t making 500lbs at 1500 rpm.

why not Alison
they need more new content on powernation, this has gotta be 12 yrs old?
Why do i get the feeling that this was shot 15 years ago
Because it was
This originally aired in 2001.
Bummer, I was wanting to call and get a copy of the show on VHS!

That 572 makes stupid power the old fashion way, with a carburetor.
Hellcat, 707hp - Redeye, 797hp - Demon 840hp This is so old, this guy is bald or at least grey now.
The 90's just called, they want cheeseball mechanic back.
What do you have to show? No Badass trucks ☑️ No mechanical skills ☑️ Talk crap = Douchebag☑️
I'll bet that Ford and Dodge are crying in their beers 🍻
