Mombasa it’s the home of food here in Kenya.. ask locals to show you where you can have Swahili food 🥘.. they have variety of foods. Kisumu it’s basically fish from the lake that dominates. Nairobi it’s more westernized.. it’s just chips and chicken (fast food) Mombasa it’s the real deal.. Swahili food it’s best
You can try mbaazi with mahamri...its good for breakfast, kiima is a street snack, chips masala, viazi karae, pilau, chapatii madondo, chicken tikka, biriyani, sea food, coconut rice, nyama choma, kuku choma....etc they are lots of food around Kenya you can get them in any city
That food is a balanced diet already. You have ugali which is carbohydrate for energy, sukuma wiki, vegetables for vitamins and fish or nyama for protein. Even if you order ugali and beef, it is a must to be given vegetables in Kenya. Part of the meal. Bon appétit

Next time try Fish in kisumu, Nyama choma & Mutura in Nairobi, In Mombasa you can try Mahamri, Maharagwe ya Nazi, Samaki wa kupaka, Samaki wa Nazi, Mabuyu, Muhogo wa Nazi, Boilo( this can be boiled fish, Beef, Mutton or chicken) etc
