Evan was a student in more than one science class I taught back in the day. He is the real deal. Missed 3 days of school to mourn the death of his favorite hound. I am proud to say I sold him his first muzzle loader. Going to see him in concert for the first time this Saturday. Best wishes, Evan.

I have been listening to this band for a long time now. have always been a fan. I have heard them do this song live numerous times now. This is the absolute best version of this song, and what makes it that for me is the harmonica playing. Being a musician who writes and plays this type of music I can honestly say that it makes this song. The bends are perfect and it's so clean and crisp. Astounding.
you nailed it Jake. Evan crushes it with the harmonica. Everyone in the band is a great musician, and Kyle Nix might be the best fiddle player alive right now.
Yeah, half the reason I checked this video to see their live arrangement. That lead guitar part sounds awesome. Especially considering he usually plays a telecaster!

No, but I once lived in McAlister, OK and feel like that's somehow that has something to do with the strong draw I have for these guys. I just cannot get enough of their music! I'll see them at least three times this year, and that's not enough. Six days until I see them again! West Virginia, here I come! August 8 show. ❤
Shieeeeeet... not into Country music, but i guess thats a good stuff huh ? Came here from Yellowstone.... Song that in 2 first seconds gives you a nice feeling
Gives it to you at the end though. Dont you think it suits the meaning of the song better like this? Hopeless feel for the first two, then strength/frustration in the last one.

Isn't this the guy that plays games, his wife being his partner alone with side kick Saddle Tramp. Think God they went for the top name in Female Country Music, who happens to be as tough as leather. I'd hope their 15 minutes of Tabloid Fame was to their satisfaction.....

Broken Arrow Productions right! Lol
He is the bomb!! Talent beyond belief!! And so very happy for Staci and her little Evangalina!!
I quit a job in 1987 because they didn't give me enough time to mourn the death of my dog Shonie. I needed three days.
Cool!

The kid is an absolutely phenomenal fiddle player!
I wish he'd put more into the chorus live. I love the way he sounds on the studio version. So much talent.
One of the best country songs ever written in a modern day.
Nice to see a band with a good fiddle player and, he is good.
The fiddle drives this music deep into your soul and yes the guy playing it is that GOOD!! These guys are EFFNAWESOME!! #GOODLORDLORRIE

more steel guitars and harmonicas in Country music is what ive been advocating for. A good Harmonica in a country song can make or break it.
You can be honest, it's because of the 'stache, isn't it?
That lead guitar part is beautiful the way it rings out.
Yeah, half the reason I checked this video to see their live arrangement. That lead guitar part sounds awesome. Especially considering he usually plays a telecaster!
Get well soon Evan, we all miss you ♥️
Finally a song with my name in it! Thanks Troubadours!! (heard it for the first time today on 99.5 The Wolf - Dallas)

Real country music isnt dead, it just lives in SE Oklahoma.

I absolutely LOVE the Jimmy-Lorrie thing in their songs.. GOOD LORD LORRIE I LOVE YOU ....

My new favorite song. Listening to it over and over and over again. Good job, TT.
Safe to say I’m obsessed with this song. I’m a bit late to party, but what a great band.
Lorrie was the name of the girl in my high school that got away from me. That was '89. This tune makes me tear up every time...

fav song!! badass band!!
Learning how to lose a thing you never laid a hand on all along. Man that speaks to us all...
Lorrie lit a cigarette and smiled
And waved the smoke out of her face
With her black hair brown from the summer sun
Green eyes looked around the place
And she told me that she loved me
And I grinned and grabbed her hand and said, "I know"
Let's get from here
Now darling if we're going
Let's go on and go
Well, Lorrie said her family used to have a little money
And they still act like they do
Well, your daddy don't think I'm fit to sit
In the same room with you
And if I ever set foot in Sevier county
Well your brother said he'd break my jaw
And here I sit with the dark haired daughter of Southwest Arkansas
And I've been learning that believing
And that barely breaking even
It's just a part of life for you and me
And I've been living with the loneliness
It's got down in my bones I guess
It's just another phase of being free
And I've been learning how to lose a thing
I never laid a hand on all along
Well good lord Lorrie, I love you
Could it go more wrong
Well good lord Lorrie, I love you
Could it go more wrong
Well D-Queens dry so I bought us both a bottle
In downtown Broken Bow
Lorries got a buddy with a double wide trailer
They were shaking dominoes
And I had good intentions 'til I had too many
I was stupid I suppose
You better put a little money where your mouth is boy
And try to keep it closed
And I've been learning that believing
And that barely breaking even
It's just a part of life for you and me
And I've been living with the loneliness
It's got down in my bones I guess
It's just another phase of being free
And I've been learning how to lose a thing
I never laid a hand on all along
Well good lord Lorrie, I love you
Could it go more wrong
Well good lord Lorrie, I love you
Could it go more wrong
Well Lorrie said I wonder what we ever went through
All this trouble for
You ain't half of who I thought you was
And this ain't fun no more
And her words cut clean through drunk
And dark and dimmin' doorway light
Well I've had all I can handle
Hope you're happy now, goodnight
Guess her folks were right
Guess her folks were right
Well good lord Lorrie, I love you
Could it go more wrong

This how it should be can’t tell a difference between live and studio. Unlike fake country from Nashville with auto tune.
