In this article I will show you how you can make an Arduino Color Sorter. All we need for this project is one color sensor and two hobbyist servo motors, which makes this project quite simple but yet very fun to build it.

Hello, Can I replace the sensor with an arduino camera like OV7670 VGA camera? Should I use the same modules if i use an arduino camera? My idea is: the camera will take a picture of the object, then it will take a histogram of the picture or another process which takes the color of the object and recognize the color of the object. Everything is the same in process but I only want to change the sensor with camera.

krrav cut away the top and bottom from the bottle and you have got a cylinder. slice the cylinder appart and you have a sheet of clear plastic....

hey i need to know that how did you make the moving skittles , i.e which command or what did you used in solidworks that skittles also move and retain in the position of the slider ,pipe , sorter and finally gets into its respective box ? how did you do that in solidworks?

I'm gonna try to build a similar device. Is it possible to switch the top servo with a stepper motor for continious single direction motion using the same schematic wiring setup? (like a small 28BYJ-48 5vdc stepper motor)

I have done what was told in the video, set r,g,b values according to my sensor but the bottom servo is not functioning. Is it because Arduino Uno cannot handle 2 servo and a colour sensor or is it due to my coding mistake. I have Arduino Uno r3. Please help.
It could be that the the Arduino cannot handle 2 servos. Try to use external 5V power supply for the project as shown in the circuit diagram.

Whats the power jack you used? Because two weeks ago I bought the one you provided on the link, but then you changed it to another one with 3 pins? Why?
Sorry I've updated the post wrongly. I've updated again now. So you need a simple 5.5mm x 2.1mm power jack with two pins, plus and minus.

Please provide all information about servo motors and power to be supplied to the machine. here are common complaints about the drop servo motor not working. But the author has not bothered to reply it. Neither there is any contact number provided so that the needy person can take help. Not acceptable.
