Generic MAX31856 Module wasn't working, so I made it work

I was working to reduce the component cost of PiKiln, the open source web based kiln controller I'm programming, and bought some generic MAX31856 modules off Ebay. I couldn't get them to give me accurate readings. After testing everything I learned a ton about the MAX31856, and the moral of the story is you get what you pay for.

Can u explain state machine for spi in verilog. Whats the role of data ready pin in reading the temperature conversation results

My generic modules from Ali are not showing proper temperature when using Adafruit library, but with a library written by Peter Easton github.com/engineertype/MAX31856 they are working.

Interesting. Thanks for letting me know. I returned my modules back to China so I can't test it, but even if that library did fix it, I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending people use fake chips.
