I don't know why they ship llyod with tio they have a pretty normal friendship for me. Zero and Ao shows that elie is the canon choice since she did show some romantic feelings towards lyod. Randy and tio have more dialogues, funny conversation etc. If not for they're age Gap I would ship them but now I'll just view them as having a sibling relationship.
