Originally I wasn't sold on Carr, but after watching him last season, playing hurt, leading the team, staying positive through all of the crap. He won me over and he won the team and I realized that he's much better than the media portrays him and he has a competitive streak that drives him. He's the right guy for this team and I'm getting excited for this season.
He earned my respect last year after he got booed, kept fighting and played well in the game after ⚜️💪🏿DC definitely deserves another chance from the fans

that 24 -0 game was mc dildo coaching not gruden . i believe carr didnt lose to new orleans the 1st 2 times he played them . 1 game being a shootout in 2016 with brees 1st gamw of the season and the raiders scored in the last min then went for 2 instead of the tie & carr threw it to crabtree i think 4 the win

@@hamiltoncamp besides being derek's coach with the Raiders they were actually next-door neighbors when they moved to vegas. That should tell you a lot about their relationship! I would think most employees would not want to live next-door to their boss!

I am from Fresno so naturally I have been a Carr fan through all the good and the bad! In 2021, Carr and Gruden were cooking going 3-1 before the news broke on Gruden who left soon after. In those 4 games, Carr averaged 350 yds/game (1,399 yds total), 2 TDs/game (8 Total) with 3 total ints. The Raiders averaged 26 pts/game. They played the Ravens in the Monday Night season opener (Carr threw for 435 yds and 2 TDs; W 33-27 OT); Steelers (Carr threw for 382 yds & 2 TDs; W 26-17); Dolphins (Carr threw for 386 yds & 2 TDs; W 31-28 OT); Chargers (Carr threw for 196 yds & 2 TDs; L 14-28). Then the Goodell allegedly torpedoed Gruden and his relationship with the NFL. That year Henry Ruggs killed a lady while drunk driving, Damon Arnette made a video making death threats while holding guns, Nate Hobbs was arrested for DUI. This was the year that Carr really showed his leadership and strength and helped keep that team together enough to make the first playoff game he actually had a chance to play in, all with an interim Coach Bisaccia. Go back and listen to those post game press conferences Carr gave and that's all you need to know about his character! So let's all keep the faith and keep this team moving forward! With all the excellent veteran leaders on this team, this should not be hard to do. Who Dat!

Great show as always James! I just wanted to throw in there, that when John Gruden and Derek Carr played the Saints it was in 2019 and the Raiders won. The year that the Saints shut out the Raiders was in 2022 and that team was coached by Josh McDaniels... Other than that, another spot on episode!

@@JamesSkrmetta It was actually the 2020 Covid season Monday Night game and it was the Waller game. Waller went over 100 yards, 12 catches. Derek threw for 3 TDs and 284 yds. They beat Brees and the Saints 34 to 24 in an empty opening first game at Allegiant Stadium.

The 24 to 0 was the McDumass raiders, the game were we won last minute was the jack del Rio Raiders back in 2016 where we won 35-34, the one Gruden is talking about is the 2020 where was the Gruden readers and they won 34-24, Carr is 2-0 against brees.

Devil Carr is a real thing. Ive always had a weird relationship with misery.
Carr is a student of the game. His haters point to all his check downs - and it is sorta true when he is in a trash offense (i.e., Carmichael, McDaniels), but the dude can process reads and has otherworldly arm talent. You saw the two Shaheed bombs in Weeks 1 & 2 so casual fans are getting to see that he can drop dimes…but if in doubt check out this throw from the 2018 Pro Bowl. Still one of the best throws I’ve ever seen.

The 24-0 crap was Josh McDaniels getting schooled by Dennis Allen. Andy Dalton beating DC4. It's hard to put into words just how bad McDaniels was as a head coach. Unbelievable that anyone was dumb enough to hire him again after the debacle when he was hired by the Colts.
