just watched this Ryan and I'm impressed. I used to paint at least 8hrs a day but that was 40yrs ago. I used to sell them on the railings at Green Park London every Sunday.. I was a very lucky 60's kid so the cash made one able to buy erm… 60's stuff. This lockdown has made this 72yo bored stiff and I started doodling … a friend left some gear on the front step including a box of acrylics and some brushes. My wife went into the loft and an easel, stacks of tubes full of oil colors, my old palette with little mountains of dried out oil from my last painting so I'm now fully kitted up. One thing that pleases me was my brushes..all clean and soft with a few tatty ones which dab on good shapes. Watching you made me remember stuff and how to use it. Maybe I'll copy this one of yours if you don't mind. I'm never to old to learn. Not sure about the acrylics though. They seem to dry too quick. Cheers my friend. Duly subscribed.

Cuz we're all stuck at home now and what better time than now to watch and learn your 10 min. Paintings !! Also i remember the speciality of your channel was that all your paintings were super cool AND that it was all 10 min. Videos...! 😄❤
I do eventually want to finish one hundred of the ten minute lesson. I believe I’m currently at around ninety but I don’t want to rush them out. I want to have some really inspired ideas and compositions first :)
Actually mixing them won’t work well as oils are oil based and acrylic more so fall in the plastic/liquid category. However, you can do an under layer with acrylics, let it dry and then do a top layer with oils. I actually love this method as it lets me quickly get my general idea down with the fast drying acrylics and then perfect the idea with long slow drying oils. Hope that helps!

I am a beginner in painting with Acrylics and always find my paint thin and soaks into the canvas and in over all my painting fails . Any suggestions on how to make the paint more solid and thick.?
Generally interjecting some mars black & titanium white can help as they are inherently much more thick than your regular colors. I would also recommend being careful with how wet your brush is. I often try to make mine damp, not wet so while the damp brush does elongate how long my pigments are wet for, it doesn't thin them too greatly. It's all about balance :)
It was about two days of work between trying various colors off camera, playing with the composition and just doing a myriad of other tests. The ‘homework’ almost always takes me longer than the actual painting but it makes for a much better piece :)

I just googled a inch to centimetre converter and it’s apparently 22.86 by 30.84 centimetres. Hope that helps!
