I really appreciate you sharing the good bad and the ugly of raising rabbits. I'm so happy you have made a good home for you buns. I placed a tarp down the sunny fence of one of my rabbit runs to block the sun and provide a small amount of shade at the hottest part of the day.
I wonder about the longevity of the wooden floor as its being subjected to weather and rabbit waste.
Judging from other pallets we've used outdoors for multiple years, I think our colony floor will have a very long life
You aren’t concerned with hawks or other predators. Seems really easy to access the rabbits
What about cement floors?
What do you think about putting some kind of kiddy pool or a planter box somewhere inside the colony with dirt in it for the rabbits to borrow in safely? Would something like that even work?
The dirt would be too loose and the depth too shallow. They would probably just end up using it as a big litter box. Good thinking though
