Thank you Jerry for this helpful video, where you explained everything well. You radiate an authentic, honest, peaceful, and genuinely friendly vibrational frequency. I'm interested in starting a podcast, so I look forward to checking out your other videos next time. Subscribed.
Thanks Jerry! Great video. Thanks. I didn't understand the very last part of the video. After you put it on Buzzfeed for distribution to podcast outlets but you said you put it on youtube. To be clear about the youtube upload of your podcast, are you uploading it as a video or are you uploading at as a podcast (using the little "trick" you mentioned at the beginning?)
Great tips thank you! I have been kicking myself in the Tube by just having my 1197 podcast shows (I am the morning host/producer of a show on NBC News Radio KCAA AM FM for 12 years now) listed under playlists! Now that I understand you/the rules, I don't want to overload so do you have a recommendation of how many to move over at a time?
I'd imagine you could move all of them. But of the 1197, how many of them are still relevant? I'm only asking because if if it is topical news content then I might only move the last 6 months worth.
@@mrjerrypotter well that is a good point except that what distinguishes my show from any other is that i DO NOT talk about the news which people can get EVERYWHERE and it's almost always negative "if it bleeds it leads" so I focus on interviewing people and topics that help us focus on our own reality show and how we can be happy 88% of the time...kind of like the feel good stories at the end of other broadcasts...so no gossip no angry rhetoric...they said it wouldn't last a year...12 years later, she's still ticking :) But I am bringing them over in groupings based on topic...celebrity interviews, sexual healing, "Get Happy" Hour (happiness coaching) so it won't be all at once. Thanks again
Helpful video! Can i set up multiple podcast playlists on one channel? For example, i might have a series of 20 shows that would be on 1 playlist or podcast. Then a series of 50 shows on a different but related topic that could be a different podcast playlist.
Glad it was helpful! For real though, it will be interesting to see if TH-cam Music becomes the most used podcast app on Android phones or not. If it does, TH-cam will be essential
@Jerry Potter I have podcast with about 107 Episodes on Spotify and the like. The first about 70ish episodes are audio only and i put them also on youtube just with the sitting thumbnail in a PLAYLIST. From my 70ish episode onwards I produced my podcast as videopodcasts, that are regular Videos (not labeld es "potcast") on TH-cam now. It does not seem to be a good idea to keep the first 70ish episodes displaying on youtube with just the thumbnail. I could imagine they drop my average viewtime, since i can already see, basically noone clicks these or if then just listens for a very short time. Any suggestions how i should go about this? Like how i should use my episodes? Maybe just use the videopodcasts and turn them into a podcast on TH-cam directly and just dont use the previous episodes on youtube? Thx in advance. btw. GREAT video!
I would have them all there in one playlist so if someone discovers your show they see there is more content. I don't think you'll see any noticeable effect as far as the algorithm goes. It also feeds them to the TH-cam Music app!
I’ve already set up a regular TH-cam channel to upload videos. Do I need to set up a separate TH-cam podcast channel to be able to feed my content to the TH-cam podcast (music) ? Thanks for this video.
I know when they first added podcasts it was somewhat limited but it looks like they've built them out. Definitely worth considering if you are already paying for Kajabi. Otherwise I'd go with a platform that offers dynamic audio insertion (where you can inject audio into older episodes to promote time sensitive things).

So....putting video podcast on the two places mentioned...Buzz and YT, that doesn't infringe on copyrights? Thanks. Need to watch this a few times to grasp.
I subbed! I am re-luanching my channel. I am deprioritized because of the Longhouse Values I discuss on my channel - think Sweden before they recently went capitalist and are now in financial trouble. I appreciate your tips and advice.
Great video. However, Buzzsprout as host WILL disseminate audio podcasts directly to TH-cam now - which is great. My issue: (as you mentioned) the doubling of episodes on my page - one of the video episode, and one of the audio. Some are The video versions I manually uploaded + the audio versions that were automatically RSS uploaded from Buzzsprout. They look identical and nothing shows the viewer that one is video and one is audio. Does TH-cam have a way to segregate them, meaning put the audio-only podcasts only on the Podcast tab - rather than on the Video tab? If not, seems like the option would be to change the thumbnail pic for the video episodes to make them look like videos, or name the video podcast a "Video." Thanks!
You could have the audio and video episodes on separate playlists, but that's not ideal. I don't have my Buzzsprout account connected to TH-cam, it only distributes audio to Apple, Spotify, etc. Then I manually upload the video version to TH-cam. This keeps it all nice and clean.
Oo question that I hope will help me and others - those of us who already have several duplicates from the RRS feed audio and the video uploads - is it worth deleting the audio ones or keeping them there?
I think it's a personal preference. You could just move them to Unlisted or Private so they don't show up there, but you still have the analytics and you could restore them if you wanted to later.
Is youtube as strict with its youtube content as its video content? i would not want to host my podcast here and it have restirctions that other podcasts hosts do not have!!

Uploading it to TH-cam as a video. That puts it into the TH-cam Music app as well.
I've been trying to work out whether the two (audio and video) were needed, thank you for clearing this up, really helpful video Jerry! 😁

Yup! I just added a second podcast to my channel: www.youtube.com/@mrjerrypotter/podcasts
What do you think adding some of your playlist to podcast from youtube. Whats the benifits do you get wach time.
Not sure I understand - Are you asking about adding regular TH-cam videos to a podcast playlist?
you are good at simplifying it !! i subscribed here !
