  • Drone flying for an aerial view of Mount Rushmore, South Dakota to see our four great leaders was spectacular. I did not want to go into the park and deal with people so I was happy for this turn off area. I truly enjoy the black hills area and all the little local places when you get away from town. I hope all families get to visit historic areas like this. See if you can find the surprise at the top 😎 May I also suggest the Crazy Horse monument when in this area...
I hope you enjoy and subscribe to this TH-cam drone channel while seeing my travels from an aerial view above nature, towns and cities in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia, US, Canada, and several islands @ / jamesbebop . Or my photos from 49 countries/islands, all 50 states and all but one province in Canada that I could not drive through at www.JGlowacki.com . I love to drive the world whether on the right or left with either left-hand steering or right-hand steering and of course I have become accustomed to using a stick-shift with both hands :) I truly enjoy the great food and discussions with locals wherever I have been blessed to travel. Included on this channel are some driving and snorkeling videos and even a couple bike rides I recorded.
You can also see my beginning drone videos looking at 2016 dates when I filmed in safe nature areas. I practiced how to crash safely, how to fly with three propellers and how to ground the drone and drive to it. I practiced in snow, rain and extreme cold to make sure I understood the drones limitations before I went to the big cities. I handle a drone like I do a gun and I truly hope others do the same.
Please share your thoughts with me; even if they are not easy to read, I need to know how I am meeting your expectations 😊

Three weeks after you posted this video, the National Parks Service posted this: "The Mount Rushmore National Memorial in the Black Hills of South Dakota is soon to be off-limits to drone flights. The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a new regulation restricting unauthorized drone operations over 10 Department of Interior sites, including the Statue of Liberty and Mount Rushmore." Fortunately, you were able to get this awesome video before the restrictions.

Thank you for the update. I also already have the Statue of Liberty, th-cam.com/video/9oyyDwELJX0/w-d-xo.html . Sad if they really intent to stop videographers like me instead of the pesky people wanting to take off and land where people may be in danger. I truly want to show the world what there is to go and see for themselves along with allow those that are disabled or unable to travel to see more of the world :) For years I only shot still shots, but the drone allows so much more as you have said. Take care my friend and fly safe...

Thank you for watching this video and giving me this feedback. I enjoy seeing and showing others what my drone can see that I could not see conventionally. Truly love nature, our parks and just traveling to places to show others what is out there to do and see. Even if I hiked up there, I could not have seen all of this.

I just found this video while watching NOVA on PBS. The last time I was at Mount Rushmore was back in August 2015. I was coming back from Colorado and I was with a few friends and we did a road trip. And thought we would stop and look at this national Wonder. I went when I was a child but I never remembered it. This time I did. But with what you just sent out i think I saw quite a bit more! It is also sad to hear that you are not allowed to use your drone in that area anymore! You did such a great job. I agree with people who have disabilities. Or the elderly who are unable to move around easily. You do a great job 👍🤔🤗. Thank you. I know I have people who have disabilities in my family. And have worked for places like Med Steps or Goodwill Industries my best friend has Parkinson's and I enjoy sharing your videos with her to. So Thank you 😊👍. Even if it is an old video. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you James ☀️🧡. Your friend in Sioux City, Iowa Kelli

The Black Hills area is very large in this area going north to south and just as beautiful as where this great monument was built. Walking through some of the forest northwest of here is still a wild area. Always be mindful of the land and of course the reservation; however, a hike up here is like no where in the world I have hiked. Beautiful hills and very pristine land. Unlike walking on a tundra, mountain top or in a dessert, this one area is well shaded with many unique plants and ground growth to enjoy😎 Nothing could be added to make it better!
I can understand why some would not want drones in public areas, because many would use them as a nuisance to animals and people. I have only had two locations in all my flights where someone saw me take off and maybe a dozen where someone saw me land, so as far as I know I am invisible to the public.

Hi, friend ! I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and I have to tell you this story. The first time I saw this monument I was 9 years old. I saw it in a sticker album ( ? ). Sorry, I don't know if it is the correct name in English language. I thought it wonderful and I didn't forget it anymore. It is not as famous as Liberty statue in the whole world. In fact, I've just heard about the statue years later. Great video. Peace.

The one thing I do is never fly around families/groups and or those that look uncomfortable in their setting. For me finding beauty in nature is everything, so I try to show this to others and some times people enjoy the same things so I stay away as much as I can.You will notice most of my small town and city videos take off from a place with law enforcement close so I can feel safer from others thinking I have bad intentions.
