You forgot to mention the powerful Darkness that the Kobolds fear, the reason they have those candles is not just to light their way but to keep the Darkness away from them, this is why you see Betrayal a Hearthstone card with a kobold blowing out another one's candle.

Murlocs might not be cannibals but they definitely eat other humanoids. Remember finding the chewed up chunks of Footman Malakai in Elwynn Forest? Also, if you’re into creepy stuff in classic, the gnoll tents are made out of people. Look hard enough and you’ll see one of the tent models has a face.
Have you heard the theory that Hogger is still alive? Cata retconned him into being captured not killed and taken to the stockades. He then broke out and was killed. But then at the start of BFA when the horde break into the stockades He's still there... except it turns out it was actually just someone in a costume [the cosplay winner from blizzcon]. Elwynn Forest was merely a setback.
Or it could be another Gnoll named Hogger, as Gnoll leaders tend to have the same name. In Redridge Mountain during Cata, you have to go help out a town deal with a pack of gnolls led by Yowler, who was the son of Yowler.
WoW summed it up best when they had some mobs repeatedly say: "Kill you! Take your things." it perfectly describes every players purpose in the game. Kill anything that crosses your path then check the corpse for any valuables.

Thank you for making this video. I really enjoy learning more about the smaller races, such as the Gnolls which are my favorite. Their design has the perfect blend of Warcraft brutishness and animal cartoon mascot that I can't not love them. And thank you for featuring my artwork at 3:35. I was developing a mad max inspired scrap yard dwelling pack of Gnolls and planned to feature some concept art of them as a "fan pitch" for an allied race, but when the Mecha Gnomes got announced I decided to not explore the theme any further. I still think they have the potential to me made playable if the devs decide to include them in a "classic throwback" allied race pack, along with Murlocks for the Alliance I imagine.
Missed the reason the kobolds have candles in the first place. They are very superstitious and afraid of the Darkness. The Darkness is likely what they call shades they find while digging but it could also just be the absence of light
I would've liked you to talk about how the kobolds are mining ore for the defias brotherhoods war effort. They themselves might be a minor pest, but they actively contribute to the potential destruction of Stormwind until VanCleef was stopped.
I've just discovered this channel and I'm throughly enjoying it. Even though I already knew like 80% of this lore, it's still a blast to learn something new and the humor is pretty good :D
I think it was Cataclysm that mentioned that part of the reason Troggs were considered a failure was because they ate rocks which means they ate each other and caused a ton of damage to any Titan facility they infested. They even managed to get into Deepholm and spread like a plague.
Interesting facts about each race: 1) Kobolts. Kobolts Mages have magic Candles on their head. It seems that their Earwax actually contains some form of Mana ... as weird as that is. 2) Gnolls. If you look at the tents of the Gnolls you may see a special one. With a human face sewn in. Yes they make their tents from the creatures they slay ... ALL creatures, including humans. 3) Trogs. Trogs have a special resistance to Poison damage in many cases. This is the reason why they are resistant, if not immune to the radiation of Gnomeregan. 4) Murlocs. Similarly to Ogres, the most powerfull Murloc Casters also tend to have a mutation, which turns their skin white. While the strongest Warriors have a mutation which turns their skin darker. Murlocs are also one of the few races, that actually retain their free will, if they are resurected as undead.
i have been playing wow since vanilla, and created so many human chars i can even remmeber, and yet STILL the kobold being eaten by spiders didnt hit me untill you excplicitely mentioned it, so good job! this game has a LOT of horrific things that you dont really notice cus of the ccartoony look, yet if you stop for a second and take a good look at the enviroment and what people actually sayu and read between the lines, you wil lstart seeing them which is awesome

Things like murlocs, kobolds and knolls becoming allied races just don't make sense. They don't have cities, they don't have diplomacy, they don't negotiate, some even cannibalize, there's no inter connectivity between separate groups. Not to mention that their body shapes are terrible. Sure they're "humanoid", but the structuring of their bodies are so far from the playable races body structures. The most comparable allied race I would say are Vulpera, but Vulpera are just reskinned goblins. They can just cut and paste goblin armor on them. Modeling their gear would be a nightmare. I get people's desire to have them, but that desire is the only thing, literally the only thing, they have in terms of being an allied race. No lore, no current model that gear fits, no intelligence, no major cities, and the list goes on.
The fact that I came back to WoW after quitting in Legion after playing since vanilla as an Alliance player and kobolds were one of the main races featured in TWW was insane whiplash.

They always appear in packs and it is extremely easy to aggro additional Murlocs when you're fighting one as they have a huge aggro radius. I don't know about the current state of WoW, but in the earlier years, fighting more than one monster often means death, and it was so very important to keep the fight one on one. I remember Murlocs love to gang up.
