I used it this season and it's worth every penny! I did get a 15% discount for retired military but after hesitating to buy it at that price, I don't regret my decision at all after using it for a season!
Good video, Pro's - light weight, very stable stand, good cam system, small package, Con's - very high price, not much of a seat pad (uncomfortable), the teeth on the stand can be considered illegal in some states (damage to trees public land) FYI - I am a life long user of Lone Wolf I still have there original, bought more of their stands throughout the years. The crossover looks to be a great stand if you can justify the price.
Very tough on this decision between this and ranger hybrid with sticks and saddle, first time going mobile but not sure how hard it is to find good trees and climber vs any tree and sticks, great great review
I also have the older model. The older model is 9.5 lbs. heavier than the new model, it's exactly 20.10 lbs., the reason is the old models platform is 30-40 percent bigger. I just can't justify spending $1,100 plus tax on the new one, the older one does the same job, it's just a bit more of a workout to carry it deep into the woods, and getting older does not help. Been using it for close to twenty years now. Those teeth on the new one look lethal, lethal for the tree and anything else they fall on.
I have been regretting that I didn't get this stand back in the summer. This seems to be what I want. Does the straps that go around the tree come all the way out or recess in further? It looks like they would hang up in brush.
Have you ever tried a summit open shot I’ve been using 1 for probably 15ys it’s a great stand but what appeals to me is the sit and climb bar and the weight on this stand but what worries me is the comfort nobody wants to pay 1000$ a stand that’s to uncomfortable and never gets used lol
Yeah my buddy actually got a summit open shot a few years back and I have used it quite a bit to test against this one. The LWCG packs on your back way better and is easier to climb with. However, it is not as comfortable as the summit. But for me, I’m not normally going to be out in a tree stand for more than three hours and the.LWCG IS PERFECTLY FINE FOR THAT AMOUNT OF TIME.
Yeah the LWCG pack would be sweet if they had it come with it. However i actually like the Sitka fanatic pack more. So I’m sure i would have payed more if there was a pack included and still had to buy the Sitka. Lol
It is a pretty high quality dense foam. It works for me for about and hour and a half before I need to stand for a few minutes. But then I’m able to sit back down again for just as long. Definitely a little bit of trade off when you go that light, but I think they did a great job all things considered
I by no means make a lot of money and had to save for a year to be able to get this. I felt at the time and after having it can say if you use a climber a lot the lone wolf is very worth the money. It’s so easy to pack and the teeth are amazing. There is literally nothing like it on the market that I know of. It is definitely expensive and an investment however.
Looks nice except for the seat. Seems like an afterthought. I have an OG sit and climb with a Hazmore seat. Maybe that was what they were trying to replicate with the webbing. Too much 💰 for me but I’m glad some life is is coming back into the climber market. I believe saddle hunting wouldn’t be as popular as it is if more lightweight climber options were available. Most TH-camrs I watch climb climber friendly trees anyway. No one wants to have to navigate branches. So that negates that argument against climbers. I also have never liked dealing with sticks. The Crossover is probably lighter than most saddle setups. Unless your doing one sticking or some other BS. Which, ironically, is the same movement as using a climber just more of a PITA and not as safe.
Thanks for the comment. I love hearing what people have to say. I am not a saddle fan for the most part and agree. I look for easy trees to not make much noise. Climbers work great for that

The best instructional video to date for this stand. Good job!
Thank you! I tried to step up my content and make it in depth but not to boring. Haha
@@rogueoutdoorshtkstw I'm gonna try the aftermarket footrests. Placed an order today.

Great summary!

It is definitely a tough decision between the two!
Walking in some hill country this will help a lot my old one is good but heavy 20 pounds get you on the hills
Yep that’s for sure

I’m convinced
Glad the video could help

You can take them out or push them in farther. I have no issue with thick brush. But you can change it if you need

For that price they should have incorporated a backpack for some storage. Nice review!👍

I'm afraid the teeth are so sharp that it would stick in the tree too much and be very hard to get it to "un bite" every time I want to move it!
Once you learn how to wiggle the teeth side to side before coming down it’s actually really easy.
Can sit bar be adjusted to be in front of you ?
You can take it off, have it behind you, in front and below you. It’s pretty adjustable
@@rogueoutdoorshtkstw👍tks !!!!
That seat looks super thin, how comfortable is it really??

How does it compare to the Ambush ?
Totally different league to be totally honest. The Ambush will work just fine for you, however the LWCG is way more efficient and fun in my opinion.
Is the cam reversed on the top portion?
Yes makes for ease of operation
A lot of us hard working 9 to 5 blue collar workers cannot afford this price tag

Look at xop they just launched a climber that's same and bigger weight capitacty 350 ponds
@mckenziepenny9404 XOP is releasing their light weight 12lb climber early next year, few people very tight to XOP is already running it.

Only 250lb weight rating
Yeah I have seen reviews by a few guys that are quite a bit larger. But that’s what they have it listed as.
I think lone wolf has really missed the mark and stepped on their dick with this one
Fk that 1000 dollar stand. They are smokin rocks
I heard the $1k price tag... I'm out
Yeah the price is the biggest draw back for sure.
