Alas, I was much older but lived at Puk Bay around this time - I could watch the trains climbing up from Plimmerton from my roof. Spent many depressed hours walking the tracks between Plimmerton and Paekak which was good therapy. It seems there was much more variety in rolling stock then.

I'm trying to work out if that's the Northern portal to the old disused #12 tunnel that I'm seeing, or if it's a tree.
Yes I think it is the tunnel 2 portal.
