The amount of money people have made from it is ridiculous. Even EA employees are surprised when they hear about it. This video was decent, but it only scratched the surface of what's gone on!

People always say "make packs better" but fail to realize what implications that would have. If everyone had Ronaldo, Messi, Bale, Agüero etc, then the value of said players would drop drastically and it would make the rest of the FUT players worthless and the entire idea of a FUT market obsolete. Good players are supposed to be rare and only in the hands of the few, that is what makes them special. If they are a common sight, then FUT would be no different to kick off.

I suppose they meant that by focusing on FUT, EA decrease their interest into the other modes, and don't improve them. One could argue that Career Mode was modified this year, but it still is a minor change compared to the years of non improvement.

I've never spent an extra dollar on FIFA in my life. But i'm still able to win division 1 with good/decent teams. No matter how much money you dump on the game, it can only help so much. The worst players you play against always have the most insane, expensive teams. Any FIFA player can tell you that.
Here's the dilemma. EA are running a company. Imagine you was running a huge company and some random external company who isn't affiliated with you was making money off of you, but you wasn't gaining a profit percentage from them, then you would lose money. That's why EA don't want coin sites to generate much avenue because it's technically illegal and hurts their business. On the other hand, coins are good. There is no way you are ever going to get the likes of Messi legit from playing games. Because of that, EA unintentionally encourage people to buy Fifa points to open packs to get more coins. Packs are never rewarding regardless. At least you're able to make your ULTIMATE TEAM by buying coins because it's cheaper. I spent £80 on 12k fifa points. Best player was Mhkitaryan. Overall, i made around 200k profit which for that amount of money isn't worth it. But, i could get like 3,000,000 coins for half the price of 12k Fifa points. I don't know what could make UT better tbh

I strongly disagree that sniping isn't possible. The price ranges are big enough where if someone lists a good player on the low end of their range, that card can be flipped for a nice profit. I think EA have done a great job in fighting coin selling.

I actually think the price rangers worked okay. Ibra was affordable and so were a few legends in FIFA 16, for the honest player. You can earn 200K and buy them and a team around them. And before the pricerangers that was a no go. Added with the draft, squad builder challenges, and you can for sure make your coins without buying coins this year.

The market this year is very good, because coin sellers don't exist. Although I think Fifa points are to much, I think it is a good thing that coin sellers don't exist because the market is a lot more stable.
EA should (But won't): 1- Make you win more coins from a win, and packs cheaper. 2- Make good players more common in packs. Having to open over 10 packs to gets someone 85+ is pure bullshit. No one buys FIFA to play with a 76 rated striker from the Championship because a half decent one costs more than what you win in 4 matches. 3- Make the draft cheaper and with better rewards. 4- Get rid of fitness and injuries in FUT. If I wanted that, I would play Career Mode. 5- Make FIFA Points cheaper and easier to buy. Really, it would help with the shitty market.

At the moment the most annoying thing is the transfer bots. Especially since SBC's were introduced in Fifa 17 it's stupid how certain players, crucial to the challenges, are all bought in an instant after the new SBC's are introduced. Same goes with some players that are just good buys in general. Prices are racked up constantly and if someone happens to list a player with a slightly lower price it'll be bought before it's even listed in the market.

Honestly, a removal of the web app would IMMEDIATELY lead to a stabilising of the the market. In fifa 10 and 11 an "expensive" player was someone worth 10 or 20k, simply because money was much more difficult to come by without trading (while it did exist, it was no where near as big as now). In fifa 11 on the web app you would only have at most 5 bid tokens which replenished every hour, so no one was gonna abuse the web app like now. they could do something like that
Coins that are being sold can never be described as illegitimate or illegal. The coins themselves are put into the game by EA, and are a product of the game itself. It's not as if some hacker has put a shit tonne of them into the FUT market, it's the farming bots etc that cause the problems. Yet those that use to trade fairly and legitimately can no longer do so because EA, like so many other game developers, fail to understand their own game and instead just want to shove money up their arseholes.
The worst thing was to buy a player, we say he costs 50k, and then ea decides to change the pricetag, back in fifa 15 so the player costed like 30k after that.

EA doesnt do microtransactions, they do macrotransactions. This is a big part of the problem. In D6 I average 400 coins a game, this is about as middle of the road as you can get. With the cost of contracts and packs the game isnt too feasible with coins alone because you cant save so you must play as much as possible. If you just want to open packs and skip ahead legitimately youre forced to pay a bunch to open a pack. PC games charge a dollar for a skin but were paying 3-5x that. The price point for a pack is too high for what you get in return so you need to allow for better packs both ways you can buy them or lower the price of the packs. Coin sellers then need to lower their prices and until it isnt worth it for them

Why do people cheat the game for the better players just to claim a good squad, it ruins the fun. If you want a good team by playing properly, play the new FUT Champions or Online divisions working your way to div 1 whilst improving your team through out the game. I strongly disagree that sniping isn't possible. The price ranges are big enough where if someone lists a good player on the low end of their range, that card can be flipped for a nice profit. I think EA have done a great job in fighting coin selling.

I actually think the price rangers worked okay. Ibra was affordable and so were a few legends in FIFA 16, for the honest player. You can earn 200K and buy them and a team around them. And before the pricerangers that was a no go. Added with the draft, squad builder challenges, and you can for sure make your coins without buying coins this year.

Ive personally opened and watched videos on youtube of around a millions coins and got jack shit in the packs! The market this year is very good, because coin sellers don't exist. Although I think Fifa points are to much, I think it is a good thing that coin sellers don't exist because the market is a lot more stable.
EA should (But won't):
1- Make you win more coins from a win, and packs cheaper.
2- Make good players more common in packs. Having to open over 10 packs to gets someone 85+ is pure bullshit. No one buys FIFA to play with a 76 rated striker from the Championship because a half decent one costs more than what you win in 4 matches.
3- Make the draft cheaper and with better rewards.
4- Get rid of fitness and injuries in FUT. If I wanted that, I would play Career Mode.
5- Make FIFA Points cheaper and easier to buy. Really, it would help with the shitty market.

Dylan Laws not quite, there are ways to fairly generate coins such as trading etc. What people are doing to coin sell involves cheating the game. If people were selling coins they had earned, it wouldn't have the massive effect on the landscape of the game.

At the moment the most annoying thing is the transfer bots. Especially since SBC's were introduced in Fifa 17 it's stupid how certain players, crucial to the challenges, are all bought in an instant after the new SBC's are introduced. Same goes with some players that are just good buys in general. Prices are racked up constantly and if someone happens to list a player with a slightly lower price it'll be bought before it's even listed in the market.

Honestly, a removal of the web app would IMMEDIATELY lead to a stabilising of the the market. In fifa 10 and 11 an "expensive" player was someone worth 10 or 20k, simply because money was much more difficult to come by without trading (while it did exist, it was no where near as big as now). In fifa 11 on the web app you would only have at most 5 bid tokens which replenished every hour, so no one was gonna abuse the web app like now. they could do something like that
Coins that are being sold can never be described as illegitimate or illegal. The coins themselves are put into the game by EA, and are a product of the game itself. It's not as if some hacker has put a shit tonne of them into the FUT market, it's the farming bots etc that cause the problems. Yet those that use to trade fairly and legitimately can no longer do so because EA, like so many other game developers, fail to understand their own game and instead just want to shove money up their arseholes.

The worst thing was to buy a player, we say he costs 50k, and then ea decides to change the pricetag, back in fifa 15 so the player costed like 30k after that.

EA doesnt do microtransactions, they do macrotransactions. This is a big part of the problem. In D6 I average 400 coins a game, this is about as middle of the road as you can get. With the cost of contracts and packs the game isnt too feasible with coins alone because you cant save so you must play as much as possible. If you just want to open packs and skip ahead legitimately youre forced to pay a bunch to open a pack.
PC games charge a dollar for a skin but were paying 3-5x that. The price point for a pack is too high for what you get in return so you need to allow for better packs both ways you can buy them or lower the price of the packs. Coin sellers then need to lower their prices and until it isnt worth it for them
Yh I totally agree, I know FIFA Points are expensive (I don't buy them either) but people who buy coins are just sad. Why do people cheat the game for the better players just to claim a good squad, it ruins the fun. If you want a good team by playing properly, play the new FUT Champions or Online divisions working your way to div 1 whilst improving your team through out the game. Like c'mon man just play the fucking game properly, what's the fun in having a good team in Div 10 and being entertained for about 2 days then you get bored or angry because you keep losing to players in div 8!who actually play them game properly because they are better players, just sayin most people who buy coins are usually shite at FIFA, And just want to be like a TH-camr or some shit

With a bit of trading and not wasting money it was pretty easy in FIFA 16 to get good players.
Players like Zlatan got as low as 100k which is achievable
EA's fault for making it near impossible to be rich on the game anyway. £1.20 a pack and the chances of packing someone top tier is like 10000 to 1
I stopped playing after FIFA 16... the market collapsed completely and you could no longer buy cheap and sell high.. In FIFA 15 i did that and earned 1.000.000 on the market... That was nearly impossible in FIFA 16
In Fifa 16 I spent around $400 on Fifa Points. However my pack luck is abysmal and couldn't even pack a player over 86.
