The toilet itself is probably the original one that came with the house but now toilets are made to conserve water. This type of toilet seat only came out about 5 years ago and it fits all the new modern toilets. I had the same problem when my toilet seat broke. Where I live there is a recycling shop that take second hand things when people renovate their homes. I looked for the seat that I needed but no luck. I live with my mother and help with gardening and cleaning the house. My mother is thinking of replacing the basement toilet anyway and I know how to put it in.
