But their journey is fraught with peril as they discover truths and realities far stranger than any of them could ever have imagined.

The clever details already... like the blinking apostrophe because *Saskia's* and *Saskias* both carry meaning.
They made a ship out of the friking moon. You are genious. Loved it.
And they made a "moon" out of the ship in terms of how they unveiled it too. (shape + looming above)

I agree! And i love how there are callbacks to other themes, i remember hearing the moonward theme in there. And there's a guitar lick that i just love.

Very excited to see this return to form. I liked Moonward, don't get me wrong, but this is the kind of shit that got me hooked on Midst. I just love the back-and-forth descriptions, the razor-sharp pacing, all of it. And the soundtrack? Xen's bringing the heavy artillery with this one. Each track got me completely immersed, especially when introducing the new characters. Off to a flawless start, excited to see where the ship takes us...
That one scale they use is SO good oh my gosh it's just so Midst-y
Mother Artifice is an interesting Mother name. How exactly does one treat the concept of lies? How fascinating.
I would imagine if they don't have something like veritaserum from harry potter, they would just condition people to be truthful?
I just looked up the meaning. "clever or cunning devices or expedients, especially as used to trick or deceive others." Expedient seems to have meaning in the context of the show too, seeing as it's called Unend. "A means of attaining an end, especially one that is convenient but possibly improper or immoral."
It's possible the ship IS an expedient, and Mother Artifice is aware of that. After all, it's strange that the moon's claimed by a dark baron, and then recovered without issue thirty years later.

I wasn't sure whether we would be seeing Midst at all in this story, but clearly I shouldn't have doubted! It's so cool to hear how Stationary Hill has grown from a fledgling town into an entire metropolitan city - and I love how it's still described in the same terms ("a bustling scene of progress and industry and human endeavor") that Weepe used to describe the town to Imelda, once upon a time.
I'm also very 🥺 about details like the Black Candle being renamed after Saskia, and effects of the tearror having become local landmarks/features (like Patricia's infinite bread now being a restaurant staple, lol).
I immediately like both the Granddaughter and Mother Artifice, and their respective speaking volumes of ᶦ ⁿᵉᵉᵈ ᵗᵒ ᵇᵘʸ ᵃ ʰᵃᵗ and '𝐈 𝐒𝐄𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐎𝐁𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐀 𝐆𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐓'. They seem like they're going to be such a fun duo. 😂

When the shard is revealed and the music goes into full gear, I got goosebumps!! So frigging good!!! I just now realized how much I missed my weekly dose of MIDS! I love already the array of characters and cannot wait for what lies beyond the familiar islet!

I'm feeling the same sense of intrigue and wondrous investment that I felt when Midst started, augmented by the nostalgia of getting to see Stationary Hill having grown so much but still retaining all the old landmarks and character from before. I can't _wait_ to see where we'll end up on this one. LET'S GO GUYS, GALS, AND NONBINARY PALS, WE'VE GOT A COSMOS TO EXPLORE!

Ya know this whole episode is basically just fan service to all the Midst fans. But also I'm totally living for it . Seeing that the Trusts pneumatic tubes and beads just decided to become a tree is a treat
It finally hit my brain what this whole cosmos reminds me of. White Dwarf, a 2 hour long pilot of a TV show on Fox when I was a kid. The show didn't get picked up but the imagery and some of the plot has always stuck with me.
I already know this is going to be fantastic. Loving Cleo already.

At first, a bocular man may seem impossible. But when you consider the well-known intricacies of how a bocular horse works (which, of course, everyone does) it instead seems like a completely logical next step.
Honestly, it's confounding it took people this long to make a bocular man.

First off, I just wanna say I'm glad you guys decided to continue telling stories from the Midst cosmos. This was a nice episode, it's so good to be back.
Also, "Realization" is such an interesting concept, as well as solid confirmation that Mothers don't get sustenance from food😅 I'm so excited to learn more about the workings of the Mothers through the Granddaughter and Mother Artifice.
But also... What? No cleaned captions? No appendices? You wound me Third Person.
