I finally got a chance to test and review the Mountainpeak Star folding bike. Not one, but two! The black and red was straight out of the box and I was able to try it before it was treated with some Bike Project Manila magic. The blue and black one on the other hand was on site also for bike detailing and tuning. This was upgraded already and needless to say, the stock performed well too compared to the upgraded one. This is my full review of the Mountain Peak Star folding bike.

One of the best bike review na nakita ko sa youtube except for 1 thing na kulang, if I search for a folding bike review I hope kasama rin un how to fold the bike and how to carry it after folding. Yun lng anything else okay na okay details :)

Bike buddy, thanks for the very accurate and honest review. Just bought one today at quiapo. Then rode from quiapo all the way home to mandaluyong. Previously owned two classic road bikes and couldnt be happier to switch to this bike. Very very satisfied and thank you (for yiur video) for helping me decide to buy this. Haha cheers!

Thank you for this bike review. You're the only one who mentioned the max rider load capacity fkr the mtp star. I was apprehensive to buy this bike because even the sales personnel wasn't aware of that detail which is very important to me siince I am on the heavy side. Thank you so much. New subscriber here.

Sa RB po ako nauwi sir. Hehehe.. pero still planning to purchase MTP Star as 2nd bike po. I am 171 lbs pero when I tried the MTP star last October 2022 in a local bike shop kayang kaya naman po ako.

Nice review as always! There is actually a different variant of MP Star which has different components... Shimano MT200 Hydraulic brakes, Shifter (8 speed), RD (Tourney) and has a price range of 16500 to 18k based on what I see sa FB MP and bike shops.
Hi sir! Sa vykes manila same price lang mtp star for Php13,449 no matter kung naka ltwoo or yung naka shimano na components. Sa tingin mo sir anong mas ok etong naka ltwoo+tektro o yung naka straight shimano parts? Thanks!
@@Nycosadventure I don't own one yet but planning to get one for my son. I will go for the model with Shimano parts. Pero i think you won't go wrong with either model naman.
After ko ma watch ito kagabi, bumili agad ako sa Quiapo kanina. I love this bike, ang linis tignan.

Bumili kami nito ni misis. Downside lang yun size ng chainring. 34T bitin sa straightaway. Pinalitan ko ng litepro 52T and it’s now a speed demon 👌🏼

Tnx Bike buddy. I have tried the EVANS bike before though hindi pa ako nag vlog kasi that time heheh. I'm gonna be honest with you on that bike. Hindi ko gusto yung parts used on the bike, the flimsy stem and locking mechanism, on the heavier side din yung bike. Other of course would swear by how good it is pero this is just based on my personal experience. Not hating on the brand or model. Sharing with you lang my honest opinion based on my short time usage of the Evans Strong folding bike. Send me a PM sa FB page ng PADYAKAN MO we can discuss it further.

Its different from most kasi independent yung lock from the frame. You unlock it and its only one sided unlike sa iba na unlock mo nakakabit pa din sa frame yung other end. It's pretty good actually.

Follow up question sir. MTP Star has a small chainring compared to other fb's, hindi kaya mahirapan humabol sir kapag mga long ride if let's say ang mga kasama ko is naka 50t chainring. I am sure MTP Star has an advantage sa uphill, pero sa patag po kaya makasabay parin? Thanks in advance sir and more power to your channel.

IF it's the mt-200 ok din yan for me kasi nasubukan ko na extensively. Shimano over LTWOO ako pero performance wise hindi na masama yung ltwoo. Tektro brakes naman ok basta nasa tono at alaga, it will serve its purpose.

Sir since nareview mo na ito, what do you prefer? This one or trinx dolphin 3.0?
I just want to ask you honest opinion. I own a mountain peak star folding bike. I really want to maintain the bike's foldability . However, I upgraded to a stem extension putting on a riser bars cut down to 70mm. But to be honest, the set up is so comfortable. And to add up to the problem, the bike comes stock with an inside fold stem that makes the bike really not suited to be compact when folded.
My question is that I really love the feel of my current setup, so comfortable. But the bike's foldability is compromised.
WHAT CHANGES DO I NEED TO DO TO MAINTAIN MY BIKE'S FOLDABILITY?
I respect you sir and I just need your honest opinion. Thank you!
hmmmm...maybe you can try turning the handleb ar the other side when folding just to see it the bars wont get in the way either turn left or right. Option two is replace the stem with an outside folding one. If you could send me a pic of you bike folded and not so I could get a clearer understanding what has been compromised that would be good. Chromoly is great kasi less flexing, kalanan mo lang diyan kalawang, Pero do take note that folding bikes na alloy naman can also take pressure 4'7"-6'4" height and up to 240 pounds

I haven't officially measured using a scale pero safe for me safe to say na oo mas magaan ito based on my experience carrying it around.

Wala, ata itong abang for FD sa frame eh. You can maybe use an adaptor/bracket for ttne FB pero consult muna with a trusted mechanic para sure.
Mahal kasi ang mountain peak 14k above bentahan maganda sana ang aeroic rover mga 10k lang pero ang hirap mkahanap puro our of stock any recommendations
sourcing bikes these days are difficult. Prices have gone up na din talaga. Supply and demand talaga. Kaya go for the best priced offer you find. I dont think prices are gonna regulate soon

@@ichirin01 internal cable system, the bike is lighter than the others. The components used here are also good like the shifter and RD. The brakes are reliable. The design is wicked. High;y upgradable. OKAY ITO PANG AHON

It should be okay. I would advise na you visit a shop ti check out the bike for test fit. Mahaba naman yung seatpost niyan plus adjustable yung stem too

well bigger wheels sila eh so mas may advantage. the whole point naman of a responsible group is walang iwanan. Atleast sa amin when we have group rides, I ride with the slowest pacer sa group at hindi naiiwanan
