There are so many celebrities that I would just love to meet, and each one for different reasons, but none more so than Dolly Parton! I recently had a friend of mine pass away and on the way home from her funeral, this song came on the radio and I had to pull over to the side of the road, because it could hear Gretchen's voice telling me Goodbye and that she always loved me and that would never change! I want to tell Dolly this story because I've never cried harder in my life and I want her to know how much this song moved me, and how it helped me move on. Gretchen was a very close friend of mine. We were brief lovers and I was totally crazy about her. This song helped me to realize that Gretchen was not the one for me, but that she never stopped loving me and caring about me. I miss her so very much!
Dolly is a stellar talent of course, with so many great songs she's given us, but if this were the only song she'd ever written, she'd still deserve her place in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
