It's about how society is turning more dystopian with eyes watching us everywhere, thought police etc. And how the singer just wants to "go home to 1985" before everything went to shit. So I think the soberness of the song reflects that.
I can see that with the vocals but musically maybe not this song - FF doesn't do this clever level of harmonized guitar parts - but definitely "Bruane Brenn"!

This song came on and none of us us had ever heard it but we all started singing along, not knowing a single word but we didn't give a shit. We were headbanging like that scene from Wayne's World. It put us in such a good mood we had the best night and it's the song in the car that I'll remember forever.
Thats the thing about Kvelertak , they mix awesome things with Metal : On their first album , it was Hardcore Punk + Black Metal , on this song its 80s Hair Metal + Black (somewhat) Metal . I for one am enjoying this \m/
