You're a good man Mr Pete. I would have loved it if your were my shop teacher back in circa 1978. I have that same ball end 1/2" Starrett. I love that thing. Cheers
Ditto.
Thank you so much for letting us know about the Bollinger family. I (we) have followed them for years. Also seen them (met them) in person several times. Jim is a fantastic teacher and the whole family just really seem to be wonderful people. Switching to GoFundMe now to give back.
I had not heard of the Bollingers accident. Thank you for letting us know. Always look forward to your videos.
Thank you mr pete .glad you knocked it out of the park !!! Cheers !!
As for is giving away the Mititoyu tools. Ask shop teachers you know to recommend a budding machinist. I am a retired machinist, who came to the profession later in life. I was in my late 30s when I found my true passion in machine repair and maintenance. Having the right tools early on is so important. Good luck finding the right person for those beautiful tools!!!
I think all of your videos are home runs, but then I know it has to be quite gratifying to see the "Nielsen" ratings actually prove the point!
👍👍
Thanks marshaltown for keeping Americans at work I’ll be sure to buy your hammers in fact I need two at the moment
Gee Mr.Pete, you've got a lot of pep in your step today, thanks for all you do and keep on keeping on🤗😎🤗😎
Mr. Pete I think you did so well on you video because it was rusty junk. If you look around TH-cam you will see that videos like the one you created do get a lot of hits. I myself find them very interesting. For my generation its a reminder of what this country once had and could produce. We once had high quality manufactured goods and even the cheapest American goods were much much better than what we get from China. Like I said if you look around TH-cam you will see that old rusty stuff is interesting to people and the same goes for abandoned factories and farm auctions. For me if you are willing to take the time out to create a video I will watch it! You have taught me and many many others what you know. Thank You!
👍👍👍
Congratulations on knocking it out of the park MrPete!
Enjoyed the video as always.
That decal really makes that vise complete now.
Thanks Mr Pete.
So, so sorry about the Bollinger family. Thanks for sharing that MrPete. Hurray for Vaughn being saved!
Mr. Pete, you are the great bambino of TH-cam. Keep up the good work, keep those videos coming.😊
Love the this n that videos
So, you finally disclosed your secret metal treatment. You were right, I was shocked! 😅
Have a blessed day, Mr Pete
Auction the Mititoyu tools for the Bollinger family
Thanks for sharing 👍
Sounds like you're busier than a 1 armed paper hanger.....good for you, & congratulations finally on your home run.
Thank you Mr. Pete!
Greetings from Europe.
A fellow at the BASH was handing out free items to anyone that participated in the Bollinger GFM. I hope he had a great response.
👍👍👍
Is it just me or I don’t see a link, to support the Bollinger family?
I can find it either
If you use a computer, you can usually click on the title and then find the drop down.
@@jimfiles3307 still don't see it- I'm on my computer now

Thanks for sharing this
Lyle, i think one of the commenters hit it on the head. It's the mention of the keyword rusty.... Possibly and or tool, or restoration that made those views. I have been drawn to some vintage floor jack, chainsaw, tool, etc resto vids. I like your vids now, but if you want another "homer", that may be something to focus on. Ive seen channels where just one vid, drew attention to the whole channel. It may help everything else you do.
Good one Mr. Pete ! Thanks for mentioning the Bollinger Family, these things shouldn't happen to such wonderful people.
Funny, my wife overheard the auction talk and shouted out "what is Mr. Pete doing, going to another auction! He should be down sizing" in humor of course 😂
Nice that you talked about Jim and family, great folks. Nice update, nice touch for the Versa-Vise really finished it off.
I love the "this and that" series. In my opinion, you "knocked it out of the park" with your TH-cam channel. Keep up the great work 'Pete.
Mr. Pete. Glad that you "knocked it out of the park" I am a Yankee fan as well but I live in MA, so I have to keep my mouth shut in Red Sox land.
We all love you videos. Keep em coming!!!!!
❤️❤️
Can you tell us more about Mr. Shear -- Where can I get a Versa-Vice sticker?
Contact me through one of my email addresses
Thanks Mr Pete
So, key takeaway from your conclusion....we'll be attending more auctions??? 😂
that is a handsome vice with the decal
Just watched your video and thanks for the kind words. Sorry for all the extra packaging regarding the deer head (ha!). I wanted to make sure it was not damaged. I hope your enjoy it!
That was a no way our criticism of your packaging. It was a compliment. And my family loves that Deerhead as do I. Thanks again.
@@mrpete222 No worries. Did not take your comments in a negative way at all. I had a good chuckle with your comments regarding the packaging. Glad you enjoyed the deer head. It was a fun project that many of my students enjoyed doing.
I can tell you sir, your knowledge and your videos " knock it out of the park " for your followers. Thank you for alL you do for us.
Hi Mr Pete i asked about the light and I'm so glad i am watching this video and you replied . Thank you . JM
And i must say that vise looks brand new .👍
Great to see you finally knocked one out of the park.
In my view, you hit it out of the park with every video you do. I appreciate all that you do to edutain all of us.
Thank you very much
Funny how little kids and serious old men love stickers, for obviously different reasons.
That's a very profound and funny observation.
@@ohmbug10 Thank you
This Old Tony did a welder giveaway last year. He talked about the challenges presented and the solution he went with. On a side note: I went home empty handed at the last two auctions, so I lived vicariously through your auction success. Thaks Mr. Pete !!!!
👍👍👍
Mr. PETE for President! HA !! (though you'd like that)
>>Also, Prayers sent for the Bollenger family.
We tend to like what we are good at. Sports never worked for me. I have no sports talent, (NONE) so sports interested me very little....
>>GIVE me tools in hand, NOT balls..>>>....The farm shop and the local repair shops were my interests, and welding shops also. Even carpentry was good. But machines is where its at! I loved seeing tractor engines and transmissions being repaired and stuff built from scratch and coming to life!!
First. First. First.😅😅😅
The 50,000 views suggests going to more auctions. Is there someone who can drive? I would get to Streator, but live in Florida. -- Don't forget: I flunked Shop and got an A in HomeEC. (LOL)
All your videos are home runs Mr Pete!
That’s not what the analytics say, lol
@mrpete222 I would love to see a video of you reflecting over you career. How did various school policies and budgets change over the years? What was rewarding or frustrating as a teacher. What changes did you see as cell phones started entering the classroom? Give it to us straight, did the students get dumber as the years went by? lol
That would be a good subject for a video. But remember, I have been out of the classroom for about 20 years.
Great work Mate, perhaps you could auction the Mitutoyo indicators and give the proceeds to the Bollinger's????
Not a bad idea
Must be Wednesday morning
The 1/2' micrometer with the ball anvil would be great in an automotive machine shop or engine builders shop for measuring engine bearings.
The Industrial Rust Eliminator intrigued me in that it is about 1/2 the cost of Evaporust on their website. I was hoping to find it on Amazon since my shipping is part of my monthly payment since I buy online quite often. I could not find it there. I did find it on the company website for about $15 for a package to make 1 gallon. They provide other packages to make much larger quantity solutions.
Thank you for that information. You may remember, that mine was given to me sometime ago.
The "Bollinger" discount code will be open until the end of July. You will still receive the current advertised discounts. The Bollinger code allows us to know to donate to the Bollinger family.
A minimum of 50% will be donated.
Thank you,
Timm Rosenthal
Thanks for that!
There have been a few sales that I want to assume were from this video however no one has used the "Bollinger" discount code. If anyone can point out their order number I will still donate from the sale.
Please know you still get the current discounted price regardless. The Bollinger code allows us to know to donate.
Thank you,
Timm
Settled the Morse taper drill tang debate!.
To cloud the answer unnecessarily, I have encountered spindle tapers that have no tang fixing feature. I wonder if this debate has been argued between machine design engineers for a long time???
Morning Lyle
versa vise decal applied at the same angle as the original. nice touch. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
We shouldnt have to go begging for medical alms in The Richest Country In The World
How about a contest for the Mitutoyo stuff Mr. Pete? maybe some drawings for something you could make? you need another project right? hahahehe or you could just send the indicator to me? I'm a budding machinist at the ripe old age of 39 well 40 next month. I wish I was born and raised in your area and took your classes. Thank you for the videos Mr. Pete! Is that clear as mud?
😁😁
Does that rust remover look like sugar or salt? Years ago a guy sold one that he called PF-47, mixed with water and worked great. You had to dry it quickly but on a sunny day that was no problem.
I am surprised I have not heard of the Bollinger accident on other major machinist YT channels.
Ask those that gave those products to you if you can raffle them off to raise funds for the family you told us about in the beginning.
Oily palm and skinny, round cross-section hammer handle don't mix. Buck cutout is very, very artful.
The Versa-Vise label looks great! Let me know if you need any labels in the future.
Thank you very much. I thought it looked good too.
If you need some advice for giveaways, it might be worth getting in touch with "This Old Tony".
He ran a giveaway for a couple of HTP welders last year, and ended up working out how to do it without falling foul of the various legal issues and eBay rules.
In return for his advice, you can give the idle beggar some tips on increasing the regularity and frequency of his videos! 😂
He doesn’t make very many videos. As a matter fact, it’s a 20 to one ratio compared to my output. But he still gets 10 times more views than I do, lol.

Yeah, GoFundMe has become synonymous with grifting by fake distress. Too bad so many of your countrymen abuse the trust and goodwill of others.
I had a similar experience, 20min, in Jr. High football. Biggest kid on the team and they didn't work with me at all. No interest in sports since.
😂
Regarding giving away the Mitutoyo micrometer and Indicator, just send it over here
I can show you some drills that the taper and the tang combined did not have enough driving force to turn the drill. Lol
pocketa pocketa pocketa
Why would you need a tang to drive a drill out? It would come out the same without a tang.
It appears the author of the book was as incorrect as you were about the tang!
Ikr, everyone knows Tang was a delicious and refreshing orange flavored beverage enjoyed by astronauts. 😁
How so? If the tang was only meant for removing the drill a round protrusion would work just as well.
@@ellieprice363 I agree Ellie.
You are as delusional as your Stroker Pan a is cantankerous beast.
Its funny that a rust remover uses water
Sorry, no clue why 306K would subscribe, then kiss you off. If you can't think of a contest for the Mitutoyo giveaway, charities like Habitat For Humanity(ReStore), Lighthouse For The Blind, Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc. will gladly accept stuff.
Had an idea to help increase views of your videos , but don't know if you would be interested because it would be quite a bit of work for you ( or maybe for Jordan?). The idea is a set of 3 alphabetical indexes for your home page, and I want nothing for the idea in the way of compensation, just a viewer who is grateful for all that you have taught me. One index could be an alphabetical list of your playlists, one could be an index of subjects such as casting, engine videos, homemade tools, lathe work, mill work, tractor videos, etc., and one index could be a straight alphabetical index such as Aloris, bearings, bronze, casting, collets, cores, etc. This would enable a potential viewer to quickly ascertain whether you have a video about a subject that they are interested in ( and probably find a few others that they want to watch while searching the index), without having to read the titles of 1800 videos. Like I pointed out, a lot of work for you , but maybe it could help revive viewer interest, especially if you get other TH-camrs like Keith Rucker and Abom to mention that you have an index. I have tried several times to scroll through all the titles of your videos and have yet to make halfway. Hope this helps.
That is a very interesting concept or idea. But you are right it would take a.N incredible amount of work.
As you might know, I already have 15 or 20 playlists that do organize the videos to some extent. I will think that over. Thank you very much for the idea.
