I was at that show. I’m from Buffalo and was 7-8 years old. I go back to it often, as it one of that last memories I have of myself and father doing something together. A show I’ll never forget for sure. Stone cold and Undertaker coming up the stairs through the crowd I got to run down and be right next to them. It was an amazing show.
I was a poor kid so I never got to see the ppv's as they happened. I would have to save up and buy the VHS when they were released a few months later, which I often did. Sunday Night Heat, for kids like me at the time, served as a tailgate party-like pre show deal for Raw the next night. More importantly, every 4th Sunday, we could get a taste of that exciting pre-ppv energy since we didn't get to see the ppv's themselves.
I feel like JR be lying about his blue chew experiences. I mean bruh. I love JR to death. With his health concerns I just cant thinks he's waxin dat booty!! God bless ya JR.
I thought D-Lo was a great euro champion and back then even though I didnt think a lot of that championship it elevated D-Lo to me and I took him a bit more seriously so it had a good effect for him
This is very true. JR and Conrad clearly didn’t do their homework here and it’s a shame. If they had, they maybe would have learned D’Lo was an excellent European champ. D’Lo has also gone on record that the European title meant everything to him.
The Xpac vs D-Lo rivalry felt like the peak for that title. It felt only slightly less important than the intercontinental title at a time when the intercontinental title was also at a particularly high point in terms of value
@@JayDaniel-nx1ip Yep agreed. When I think of the European title I don’t think of the Bulldog at all. I think X-Pac Vs D’Lo. The euro title was well respected in the 98-2000 era. Conrad should be better here with his ‘analysis’. Clearly didn’t really look into it. Busy man yeah but he’s fallen into a quantity over quality spell.
I’ve listened to this podcast a long time but today is my final one. The lack of care and ‘real’ research around this event is so obvious. Firstly, they just regurgitate the same beats every single episode now (wrestlers now fighting well into 40s etc). It’s clear neither actually watch the show before commenting on it. Their analysis is all so superficial. Take their angle on the European title, they can say it was ‘just another belt’ if they want, but to say D’Lo having it is random is egregious to history. He IS the European title, it meant so much for him to have it and he had so many great battles for it. It just shows a total lack of care. Also, they say the same things about the hardcore title. Their repetitive feelings, without actually talking about what happened within the matches, shows they are totally phoning it in. They just quote Meltzer, say their same spiel for the 150th time and move on. Stop being lazy, or simply stop doing the show. JR (I love him) but he clearly can’t be bothered. He does zero prep.
Idk if Jim Ross knows what he’s talking about anymore. We need the Kurt angle show back. JR just says the most PC shit or just agrees and goes off of what Conrad says

I bought this vhs a few weeks ago. I would have loved to see this show in person.
I was at this too. I miss those days. 14 years old at the time and Wrestling was all that mattered to Me back then. Thanks JR and Conrad!
Its crazy 1999 was 25 years ago! Time flies, but im glad i was in high school during the attitude era!!!

I found it funny that JR kept calling Triple H Helmsley 100 times during the Strap Match despite him transitioning into the Game-uh around this time
No human should have to suffer through this many ads.
TH-cam Premium baby
Did anyone else hear JR say he sat up like the Brothertaker? It happened the first time Kane and Taker sit up.

THE ROCK’S PROMO BEFORE THE MATCH STARTED WAS EPIC! “CAUSE YOU ABSOLUTELY SUCK!”😂😭

Love Conrad playing Jill Biden and JR playing Joe Biden
This is for winners.
Wish I could lose as much weight as JR did.
