Are your latches on your wolf packs Aluminum? I just bought 2 and Hi lid, they are plastic, I thought they were Aluminum. Thanks

They were originally metal, but were changed to plastic in an attempt to reduce the leaking problem.

The latches are hard solid polymer plastics.

I find the top lid extremely hard to close with the plastic latches. Am I missing something with my technique.

The lids are hard to close. I found that if I leave them in the sun for a while so the plastic heats up they loosen up a bit. We shouldn’t have to. If you purchase a liner pack with the zippered top make sure the zipper are tucked away from the edge or you can’t close the lid. Stay away from buying the lid that adds more room because they’re almost impossible to close. I had to file the inner lid edges. I hope this helps.

@@broswhoknowstuff yeah I’ll prob have to file the edges too. It’s crazy.

$80 box and it’s not waterproof. I have the original design and they are more waterproof than the new Pros. The outside edge on the Pros tend to deform in the wind or under pressure and can let water in. Another TH-camr also replaced the gasket and they still let water in. Nice boxes but not worth the price.
