When I was a kid I had a lot of DVDs to watch. The 1986 Transformers movie being one of them. My dad watched the show when he was young too. I would watch that movie constantly and it became one of my favorites and cemented Hot Rod as my favorite transformer. When I heard the joke in the theater my face lit up like you wouldn’t believe. From that alone I could tell I was gonna love this movie. I saw it twice in three days and I’m hoping to watch it again.
I really appreciate the producers and directors of this film. They really did a tremendous job to life long TFs fans like me. To anyone " whining" about this film is NOT a transformers fan it's absolutely perfect. I just saw it and I will see it again
One thing I LOVED about this movie was some of the old characters getting more screen time than any other movies. For the Autobots: Jazz, Sunstreaker, Prowl, Zeta Prime, Brawn (Also saw Blurr and Cliffjumper on the Iacon Race screen) For the Decepticons: Thundercracker, Skywarp, Sunstorm, Slipstream
9:12 the dog had nothing to do with corruption because this version of Megatronus was good and he hadn't fallen, Sentinal was straight up rotten and D-16 was consumed by hate, anger, and revenge
Not to forget about the subtle winks to the TransTech continuity with TF1's ~40 known and ~10 unknown levels of Iacon, that equal the ~40 to 50 levels of Axiom Nexus's cityscape, from "The Heap" to the surface ... and Elita-1 calling Shockwave "blinky", just like dimension-traveling TFA-Bumblebee nicknamed TransTech scientist/military sub-commander 3rd rank Shockwave, in the crossover script reading "Bee in the City", at BotCon 2008.
Ratchet was actually based on the character from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. They even thought about making Ratchet a female but there were no female Transformers yet until S2 of G1 so they made Ratchet male.
Going to correct the mirage comment. Barring the 2023 movie he's a very serious and calm character. Also you missed blurr who can move borderline light speed in some continuities.
I watched this movie a couple days ago with absolutely no knowledge about Transformers. This was my first ever Transformers-related thing. And now, I'm doing my research, watching every Transformers episode and things I can, because now I have an obsession with Transformers. Sentinel in the new movie was hella hot and I'm simping
Welcome to the fandom! I feel like, you either watch your first Transformers thing and it immediately clicks with you, or it doesn't. I'm so glad it clicked for you! Have you watched Transformers Prime yet? Definitely one of the best written TF shows in recent years.
The most epic Transformers (TF) movie, ever. This animated movie demonstrates how silly the TF live action movies are. There's absolutely no comparison. After watching this, I never want to watch another TF live action movie again.
As a kid I used to love the transformers cartoons and the live action movies as a teen. Though I never really knew the backstory between Megatron and Optimus. Watching this movie as an adult really filled in that missing piece of the story
If you listen closely to the music when Sentinel's goons attack the High Guard hideout, you can faintly hear a similar tune to the Bay-verse Autobots theme whenever an autobot is fighting on screen. I find that it is especially clear during Elita 1's sequence.
Li loved the movie and all those references and details to otther francises were amazing but what was more crazy was the fact that i got a car AD while watching this video.
I figured the T-Cog of Megatronus simply boosted the weapons a transformer could make from their body. I also wonder who got which T-Cog When Alpha Trion bestowed them on the four. We heard him say they were the Cogs of Prima, Onyx Prime, Micronus Prime, and Alchemist Prime. I figured at least that Orion got Prima's Cog since in the original Marvel comic he was the original bearer of the Matrix.
Yeah waaay to much reference to the movies in this vid. There were more visual G! nods than anything else. Thats how i could point out the background characters as their faces, helmets and color schemes were from G1 not the movies nor the latter cartoons.
Is it just me or is the final fight scene between Optimus and Megatron kind of a nod to the forest fight in the second Michael Bay movie? It even has starscream with others help megatron fight against Optimus. This might just be me though.
SPOILERS!!! My theory is that, during the scene when D-16 saw the head of Megatronus, D-16 heard a voice from him, revealing his true nature whatsoever. What if Megatronus planned with Sentinel, hence why he didn't hesitate he's about to be beheaded by Sentinel? These could also explained why Megatronus acted very differently after that scene. Megatronus may have told him to carry his plans. Can't wait for the sequel!!!!!
Mirage has always had the power of invisibility apart from in ROTB. Hound was the transformer with hologram abilities. The chair of Starscream's throne actually looks like it was based off of the Dark Mount throne from TFP as well.

@3:55 Ratchet was going to be the first female autobot, and named after Nurse Ratchet from one flew over the cuckoo's nest, but Bob Budiansky had a problem with female robots since they don't sexually reproduce. So Ratchet kept the name, but changed gender.
D16 is based on the Japanese Toy of Megatron designated Destron 16, with D-16 being the number on the box.
Also, the Blackarachnia and Airachnid thing is interesting ,but Airachnid was an interesting character in Transformers: Prime who was a fan favorite and I am glad to see her back, although much creepier. I do see a lot of similarities between her and Animated Elita.
Hands down. Fcking great movie right there.
Great movie. Great underline message. Perfect movie for boys. A throwback movie.
Both my son and i loved this movie. I hope it gets a sequel.
3:30 actually we did see him as one of the miners in a few shots
G1 setting, reality background, all cybertronian , story development, equal battle ability so the robot civil war can be sustained.
@3:30: Ratchet *was* in TF One... he was seen doing chin ups towards the end when Optimus re introduces himself.
His back was shown earlier. Might have been in one of the med-bay scenes. I recognized the crest of his helmet
Gobots were a true classic!!
The song You've got The touch would have been perfect when Optimus was rising up from the heart of Cybertron
If only they had...Megatron would have been wondering why he suddenly heard boss music playing. XD
Ratchet is in Transformers One. You've just shown it lol. He's in the cheering crowd scene that you've JUST told us to look out for 🤣 he's behind Arcee.
Saw the movie yesterday. LOVED IT!!! And im a G1 guy. Going to see it again and buy the 4k disc when it comes out. Also I caught all of these while seeing it for the first time ;)
a smaller detail for the toy collectors. bumblebee's battle mask is the original G1 bumblebee toy's face
This was such a surprisingly warm movie. Surprisingly good and touching.
Orion also blows on the video chip cartridge to make it work!
I caught the A-A-Tron line. Hilarious.
Awesome
I thought it was clever having Megatron (and many others) now a Miner and giving him the name D-16. Which when read at another angle is DIG.
I really appreciate the producers and directors of this film. They really did a tremendous job to life long TFs fans like me. To anyone " whining" about this film is NOT a transformers fan it's absolutely perfect. I just saw it and I will see it again
1:11 pretty sure Transformers One is its own thing…
Deserves a standing ovation 👏
As a old fan of transformer, I rather have this type of style in the franchise
D-16 is the Takara # for Megatron in the original line…
Steve resembles Laserbeak from Transformers Armada 😮
Optimus’ leap into the air just before he fires as they raid the towers main room was epic.
Watched this with my sister yesterday. I love it!
As someone who grew up watching Bayformers this was amazing to watch
cliffjumper was also in the list
One thing I LOVED about this movie was some of the old characters getting more screen time than any other movies.
For the Autobots: Jazz, Sunstreaker, Prowl, Zeta Prime, Brawn (Also saw Blurr and Cliffjumper on the Iacon Race screen)
For the Decepticons: Thundercracker, Skywarp, Sunstorm, Slipstream
9:12 the dog had nothing to do with corruption because this version of Megatronus was good and he hadn't fallen, Sentinal was straight up rotten and D-16 was consumed by hate, anger, and revenge
Optimus Prime's spinning axe is a nod to Chris Hemsworth/Thor.
At 5:20 the face looks suspiciously like the Maximal symbol and Alpha Trion turns into an animal.
Possible seed for a future Transformers project.
Maybe Blurr hasn't emerged from The Well of All Sparks yet
@@adamkidman Blurr's name appeared on the leaderboard in the movie.
@@shoshana17 I am planning to watch anything about Transformers that I can, thank you for the suggestion!
Of course you're immediately going down the sexualizing robots route.
@@emilefragz1885 nuh uh
-Sentinel Prime 2024
The most epic Transformers (TF) movie, ever. This animated movie demonstrates how silly the TF live action movies are. There's absolutely no comparison. After watching this, I never want to watch another TF live action movie again.
6:16 was a good side joke from alita one. I laughed hard.
i wasnt supposed to watch it and just asked my wife to bring my son... ao glad i ended up watching it
As a kid I used to love the transformers cartoons and the live action movies as a teen.
Such a good movie!!
I really hope Pete makes cameo as Mirage in the next movie.
2:48 you guys have zero clue who Mirage is 😂
Yeah waaay to much reference to the movies in this vid. There were more visual G! nods than anything else. Thats how i could point out the background characters as their faces, helmets and color schemes were from G1 not the movies nor the latter cartoons.
Agreed. Sad they went straight to the last live action movie rather than G1. 😒
I notice Megatron killed Sentinel the same way his movie counterpart did to Jazz.
Transformers ONE I say is a real ring-dinger.
We get The Touch 8-Bit game scene in the bonus section when the movie comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray
Mirage has always had the power of invisibility apart from in ROTB. Hound was the transformer with hologram abilities. The chair of Starscream's throne actually looks like it was based off of the Dark Mount throne from TFP as well.
A better review than IGN!
