Yea thats ace but most diy videos would show how it was built, with what parts and where to buy the bits needed. Its about the best i have seen diy. Measurements would be good also
Hi, I never knew i would have so many hits for this, a fret bender!! at the time it was hard to get hold of good ones in the UK, Only in the USA and they were about £100.00 with shipping. i Think this cost me about £15.00!!! i understand and accept all comments as we are all different and all have are own way of doing things, I can tell you that i bought (old 1970`s Mini Car handles) and ( roller blade bearings ) they spin round with the wire when you feed it through ( cheap as chips ) You have to be accurate with the hole dimentions to get it right, where the wire feeds in, the bearings have to grab the wire beleive me i wasted a lot of wood experimenting!! i havent been on my youtube to see comments, i have found that over radiusing works better for me, and makes no difference as long as you tap the fret wire down all over with a soft nylon tipped hammer the wire lays flat to the fretboard anyway. you are supposed to check and take down any high frets after the re fretting anyway . I suppose Stainless steel wire is what you have to be careful with as it is a lot harder to work with. Awful for cutting and filing and if you dont have the proper hardened tools you damage what you have!! I never use it its a waste of time!! Once you change out frets made of nickle ect you`ll realise how easy it is. ihope this helps, If you have a lot of time to wate then build one! im too busy now. Cheers.
The last four or five inches don,t seem to get bent right. I think flipping the wire around and sendit trough again makes for a consistent radius overall.
nice fret wire tool, window winder, winder, ive a couple of guitars to refret, and my centre lathe is going to be busy as well as my mill,a screw fed adjust might be a good add on,easy to do too.did you use plastic bushing on the shaft with the winder ,or a bearing set. Again ,very nice, graduated feed too.

Hey i have to say what a great use for a window crank handle and awesome iam gonna make one
any chance of you putting up a vid on making it or a list of parts and a rough outline of how you put it together?
Do you sell plans for building these? Nice job!

I know that this is a rather old video, but can you please explain how you attached the window handle?
Measurements for holes ?
might build this one ...radius is adjustable

How do i get one of these from you and how much? I live in the UK, just encase u were wondering :)
Nice job! I madeone, but it is pushed thru manually.Mine is infinitely adjustable.(JohnWade,TH-cam. "Homemade fret wire bender") Thanks,John.
do you sell where can i get one?
I mean, build plan..
hi... can you write dimensions of holes etc..? . thank you
Orhan aydın dimensions for holes
