I am always up for a Event, missed your one though.I look at this one it does seem very poor, even if I went there would of had a look.I like to buy a Outfit a day,so a lot of my time is spent hunting.Regards.
reminds me of an event and place i got banned from once that promised they would accept new designers but instead had a few known creators. this other event opened up and it was pretty much dead anyway with a lot of empty stalls and spaces because the event owner was so picky and wouldn't let many in. Least to say event ended up closing down and died off.
as a newer creator I've had to stop saying yes to new events altogether. all they do is steal your money and then go under, it's become a prime hunting ground for people who are scamming in all but name. I am struggling as a business waiting for a decent event to deign to pick me up since they're all invite-only; in the meantime my only safety net has been saying yes to themed events only. I don't see any new, non-themed events becoming popular in the way that older ones did -- all you ever see are new creators who have been tricked into handing over money, desperate for any new eyeballs. it's so sad and frustrating but idk what to do anymore. I don't have the time or energy to be on social media 24/7 hyping my own stuff just for SL anymore.
as a unknown smaller creator myself. I got rejected 4 times from a weekly sale event until I finally got a chance to get in as then in the end they opened up the event to pretty much. anyway. Turned out the event that had rejected me 4 times was completely overhyped and I didn't do great in anyway. I tell you something aswell. I'm beginning to feel like the best events to do are hunts and one off themed events in all honesty because it is good to be able to have the extra time to prepare and setup your work. Weekend sale events tend to be very picky with who they let in and i've experienced that many are just not worth doing.
Best events I have taken part in include the Forget Me Not event and Outshop Cancer Popup Market and Hunt. I also did a Womenstuff hunt too earlier on in the year which was amazing to be apart of and wasn't requiring me to do much. People really love hunts.
I still shop events in SL but i mostly go to the old well known ones like coll88, kustom 9, Access and level events .. but i dont really spend as many lindens as i used too doing these ones. I more spend lindens on sale events but i always make sure i am not double buying items so i dont spend too bad on sales anymore either.
I haven't been in any events that have given me a good profit. Most times I am making huge losses when creating work in secondlife so I do Celestial Butterfly game to earn the side money needed to afford upload costs for mesh and textures and event entry fees. I have came to learn that I enjoy charitable events and doing hunts however. I feel like Secondlife could really do with some more hunts and interesting one off theme'd events. Though you do have to be careful because if you are a smaller creator like myself you can't guarentee to do well and make loads of sales especially if there's a lot of competition around you aswell.
THIS!! I had to get a premium account though... I do skins and those upload fees were INSANE for 2K textures. Like you, I prefer hunts and main store events. I just can't be paying people's tier, and they not even TRYING to help promote my booth in THEIR event. It's ridiculous.
Do you think bloggers have more influence than events? I'm often surprised by the messages and comments asking about my outfits. Social media is a major influence on my clothing purchases.
I haven't shop at events in very long time ! The reason is all the events sell exactly the same crap item, style and or design !! The hype of event shopping in SL is cooling down and seems the creators and the events owner can't read the air ...None of who i know is hype into shopping in SL anymore ! And is all due to the fact that there is nothing fresh , always same prim in a different color but u get the extra bits in the fat pack !! Oh now we have PBR , lets put PBR on everything and make it shinny FACEPALM
I went to C88, where I usually buy a couple of things. This time, I bought nothing. There isn't much PBR to rave about. On the bright side, I like seeing a positive balance in my Linden wallet! 😄
I won't be doing a whole grip of them. As a creator, I found my creativity severely cramped when I packed my schedule with events. You spend so much time creating for other locations, your main store suffers. Also, I am so old in SL, I remember when they didn't let Black content creators in, and many of these big events still play it that way. Aside from this, the marketing across the board, even for the biggest most successful events are lacking power. I see events as con now because of it. Like you're just paying their tier, and they do very little to make your participation worthwhile. Many that I participated in, did not break even for me. So now I limit them rigidly. I much prefer to just be creative for my store, and use my own devices, because at the end of the day, there are very few events that actually care about either the creators or the shoppers.
Events are literally killing small stores in SL, unless your a big company name most of them wont even give you the time of day.
congrats on over 1k subscribers, so happy for you Prisqua
Thanks so much!
I don't shop events anymore either, same items, different textures. People aren't creative anymore, so why waste your time.
They are going to have an event for the events event...
😄
This is soooooooo funny 😄

I agree, most just take large fees and your lucky if you break even, Id say if any now the only events worth doing are Fantasy Faire.

@@secondlifespectrum Might be so... I'm getting more value from my blogging team than anything else I'm currently working with.
@@NDelamikoBey I'm guessing having a good team of bloggers would help, as I imagine they are not all created equals.
@@secondlifespectrum Not even on a single blog team... but you're right.
