Hey Garrett, I’ve been making concrete obstacles for some years and I wanted to give you some tips.
    1. Don’t use quick setting concrete, you’re setting yourself for failure. I prefer to use regular concrete + sand and you might need to add a rebar in the wallie ramp and S shaped bench for longevity and additional strength. Once they cure and you take them out of the mold get them wet again (it’s best if you cover them with a damp towel) and let them dry away from direct sunlight for at least 24hrs before you sand them.
    2. Weight your concrete and water(and sand) before you mix them, that way you’ll mix the same amount of each every time you pour concrete. Ideally you want 2 parts water 2 parts concrete 1 part sand. If not using sand replace it with concrete in that formula. These are rough estimates and ultimately depend on what concrete you use, find a mix you like doing a few tests.
    3. Get a cheap massage gun to help you vibrate the molds faster and more evenly. This is a key step to get smooth and strong obstacles. Vibrating the mold for the S bench will make pouring through the funnel easier too.
    4. You’ve said this yourself but please wear gloves and buy a respirator. It will also be useful for when you sand the concrete. Concrete is a nasty chemical that can burn your skin and inhaling it sucks.

A sawzall is typically used on concrete forms to vibrate them. That may work for these.
Best tip is to get an actual finishing float, not a trowel. You'll want to keep it in a bucket of water to make the surface float a little nicer.
You might be able to slow down cure time slightly if you keep it out of direct sunlight as well.
And for the wave ledge, fill the bottom of the mold up and then cap it and fill the top. that should have two fill ports (one on each end) to help distribute the concrete easier. I would also make the vent larger. You can always sand down the side, you can't add more.

Journeyman Plaster here, and I don't necessarily work with a ton of concrete. I do however work with molds just like those for special projects. I've pored some massive molds before that end up weighing 100+lbs. Something worth trying would be casting plaster. It will work the same for finger boarding, just wont have the same color of concrete. It usually takes 20min to dry, but you can add a retardant to it and make the mud last 40+ min if you want it too. I noticed a couple things you could work on. Add water to the bucket before the dry powder you'll get a better mix out of it. Just don't over do the water, you can always add more. Spray the molds with a cooking spray like PAM. That will help them come out smooth on the mold side, and pop out easy. Also makes cleaning way better. Tap the sides of the mold to get bubbles out rather than moving them around a ton. Get a multipurpose sprayer from a hardware store and mist the tops before you start to trowel them. That will help it smooth out without pulling the mud like you did in this vid. The casting plaster will also be a bit easier to sand if you need to. Feel like I'm forgetting something, but hope some of those tips help.

I have a feeling the issue with the 2 piece mold not draining fast enough has to do with air getting trapped in the mold. When you pour the concrete into the funnel, it seals off the only opening. The air inside the mold can't escape causing the concrete to fill in slower. Maybe adding a vent hole on top at the other end will help out. Keep up the great content!

For the concrete, you don't need that quick set. You will also save money using normal concrete and sand, lowering your costs. You do want to add in some wire mesh though. Use a proper float and wet it for smoothing the tops. Production is all about efficiency, your current setup is not efficient which is why it is so stressful and costly. You are also working in high temps and direct sun, which is causing things to set so fast. Inside your new garage would give you more time to work, even with what you have now.
Create a real production area that is level and has everything at hand that you need. A concrete vibrator is what you want and it will vibrate the entire table and molds at once with proper strength to work out bubbles. You can use the palm sander or a sawzall with no blade though and do mostly the same thing. For your two part mold, that is made for resin and not concrete which is why you are struggling a bit. Widen the fill hole and add another fill hole on the other side, add/widen the air hole too. Fill the bottom half first, then put the top on and fill just that part through the funnel/fill holes. You can also get a small shut off for the end of your hose that screws on and has a valve (they are only a couple dollars) that way you can turn it on or off right at the end instead of needing to go to the faucet.
You could also make resin obstacles and add colors, and you can stain the concrete also if you want some variety.

I’ve only ever put fence posts in with concrete but if I were doing that I’d make an extra sloppy small mix, just enough for the two piece mould. You could make it in a jar and just shake the jar. Tape the mould together and take my sweet time to make it. Rinse the jar, pop the mould and then go again.

You may already own a massage gun or get one easily, it can be used to make the molds vibrate, even to make the whole table vibrate if you attach the gun to it (and the table is not too sturdy/heavy). We once opportunistically used a massage gun to do the same but on an full size concrete column we were making at our local DIY skatepark.

Hey Garrett, maybe you should try securing your palm sander to the table somehow so when you fill all of the molds you can vibrate the whole table at once so you don’t have to do each individual one because of how fast that stuff dries. Just a thought but I think it might work well. You could probably also get away with a thinner consistency it might spare you a few minutes of dry time. Either way I’m here for it! Lovin the content!!

Try pre-measuring out your water and concrete mix, develop a process for mixing the concrete (1/2 before water, 1/2 after water or something like that), then time how long it takes for it to incorporate everything and properly mix it. This way you'll streamline everything and have more time before everything sets to focus on smoothing out imperfections.

I was not a Tesla fan due to range anxiety. I really like Elon musk though. However, my buddy took me on a road trip in his and it was the best driving trip I ever had. The comfort was unreal. What a vehicle. We drank and the car drove for 4 hours! I can’t hate on teslas but the meme’s are pretty funny!

figure out much powder you need to make one full mold just mix that pour it so you can keep an eye on it then proceed on to the next one

Get some crete that sets slower. Obviously it would take more time but you also have more time to work with it, pout it and get a better product.

some of those not as clean ones you can always try and make them look weathered. like theyve been skated for years or been outside for a while.

Set a palm sander on the table it vibrates and get concrete that takes a minute to dry

Yo, you should try using like a massage gun or something like that for vibrating the molds. I feel like that would help and give some consistency in the finish.

I would definitely try a half batch since there is only 1 Garret

I personally just have mixed feelings about teslas. I love the sound of combustion cars exhaust when you remove the muffler and you dont get that with the tesla but a tesla is economically convenient if you have a house to charge your tesla overnight or when its not on use
