Thanks for posting. Such a great visit. It's strange it lasted only one segment, there was so much else they could have talked about -- including their shared friendship with MTM. It's also strange that it's her only Letterman appearance.
Wasn't she just great? And David too. Thank you again, Don. You give us all these great videos, a chance to revisit our old friends, and feel the love again, for a little while. It means a lot
$10 million dollars was the amount she won.. I was on the final show she did in some classroom scenes with Jason Batemen. We of course didn't know about the scandel until well after we shot the show.. Years later I found out they saved the show I was in by replacing Valeries scenes with Sandy Duncan's.. That was pretty nasty in my opinion but I did get to see the show I was in after all these years!!
I love the hogan family and sandy duncan. As i watched it i then learned about valerie was in the earlier years. I then watched some of those episodes. I wish the entire show was on TH-cam (even if it had ads)
This was when her other show "Valerie" was a big hit, then she was wrongly fired from the show. It later became "Valerie's Family", then "The Hogan Family" with Sandy Duncan. She will be missed. #RIPValerieHarper
I enjoyed watching that show, & still like watching the reruns. But it was never the same once Valerie left. I didn't understand it at the time since I was young; I just knew her character died. RIP, Valerie! Such a beautiful light she was!
. Interesting that Ms. Harper only appeared on Dave's shows just once. It's understandable that some "flavor of the month" celebrities come on the show, but then never show up again. But I'd love to know why some of the bigger names that came on the show, that you just assumed would probably come back again at some point, never did (Shirley MacLaine is another that comes to mind, but it's not hard to figure out why she never did again, based on the one time she did.....). Good Stuff !! Thanks again for posting ALL of these treasures !! .
She a fantastique lady all around ❤ smart funny witty and beautiful. I recently as a younger millennial watched the Mary Tyler Moore show and Rhoda and she was just fantastic
One of my favorite episodes of Rhoda was when she was married to Joe and she went out with her girlfriend and of course Brenda her sister was also there ❤️ but turns out Joe was supposed to be in bed asleep instead he wasn’t even home !!! So Rhoda decides to tell what she thinks could have happened to Joe of course Rhoda thinks hes met another woman and she starts telling what shes thinking 🤔 Rhoda said his hair smells of the city 😆🤣 one my favorite episodes ❤️🙏
Love valerie harper..but she did the same money pull on rhoda..she got it...lost on the valerie show....when is enuf enuf..no matter her settlement she would have made much more in the least 3 seasons it run ..plus more of a legacey for her...sad how money rules..id rather happiness..
Forgive me hh23 hh23, but what in the blazes are you even talking about here? All due respect, your grammar and spelling are horrific. In an informal comments section like this one, no one expects you to be perfect. But I have to say your inability to structure a sentence or spell the simplest of words makes whatever it is you're trying to say unclear, to put it kindly. "But she did the same money pull on rhoda." What exactly is a "money pull?" I want to enjoy and engage with your comment, but I can't.
Thank you, Don. Heavy, heavy heart. Godspeed Valerie, you were dearly loved. Give Mare a hug.
She’s super good natured about what happened and she was gracious about her former show’s continuing success.
Valerie was an icon and artist in her own right. Such a beautiful person, inside and out. We love you Rhoda.

I had the chance to meet her. She was everything you see here.
i bet she was so the same as she is on TV
Stephen Fermoyle you’re right. Meeting Valerie and her husband was a terrific experience.
@@christopherramon-reid2000 wonderful. I was teenager when Rhoda was aired..but she seemed so young always..
paul hoye yes youthful, energetic and chic.
that's cool that you got to meet her, she was such a talented lady and so funny

I've never seen this interview of hers. I was actually 4 days old at that time. Love her! ❤ RIP 😭
Valerie was is and will always be loved
This is the greatest channel on youtube. RIP Valerie.

10 million 😳 I wonder why she was fired. I remember the show, but don't remember what happened and why Sandy Duncan took her place.

Such a lovely actress, she made Rhoda fabulous.
She seemed lovely. Kudos to Dave for coming out on her side during the unlawful firing and court case .
I had a huge crush on Valerie Harper as a young boy. I still have. RIP Valerie. Beautiful inside and out. Sheer class. Irreplaceable.
Her voice is sooooo fit for an actress who plays the role of a mother
I love Valerie Harper.
It seems strange that she was 80 because it just seems not that long ago I watched Rhoda and she was young.
She always looked great until maybe the last 2 years of her life I'm amazed.
This was when her other show "Valerie" was a big hit, then she was wrongly fired from the show.
It later became "Valerie's Family", then "The Hogan Family" with Sandy Duncan. She will be missed. #RIPValerieHarper

You can hesr just how much the people love her. Very few guests get that kind of greeting.
RIP Valerie,we're all gonna miss u dearly!!!💝😪
Heartbroken. RIP Valerie.
It was so nice that she went back to her regular hair in the 90s
Thanks Don. Very sad.
Oh my gosh I laughed my ass off at this! I gotta say I completely missed “City” 😏

Thirty plus years later...insert Roseanne.

Given Dave's friendship with Mary Tyler Moore, it came as no surprise that Dave would come to support Valerie, which was terrific for Valerie.
Aww Sweet Valerie, riP!
Hope she didn't suffer really bad, such a pretty and nice lady...unlike my relatives!!!
She probably did suffer.
she seems like a lovely smart woman here. thanks again don
What do mean, seems?
R.I.P Valerie Harper, Rhoda Legend 🙏🙏.
I love her

The way she presented her lines was amazing , she didn't even come up for air .

do you have anything from the judds or Wynonna to post?? it would be greatly appreciated thanks Mike
That FCC guy looked like an actor. RIP VALERIE
How could they fire Valerie Harper?!
She was not so much fired as she said she would quit if they did not give into her demands and they said no.
City didn't make it.
