For example: “Ciao, mi chiamo Maria. Piacere!” - Hi, my name is Maria. Nice to meet you! - piacere = please / favour. For example “Mi passi quel bicchiere, per piacere?” - could you pass me that glass, please? - You can also use “piacere” in an ironic way “ma fammi il piacere / ma per piacere”. For example: “Maria ha mangiato 15 pizze. Ma fammi il piacere” - Maria ate 15 pizzas. Come me, give me a break! I hope this helps 😊

In an ironic way I have said like in your example if someone told me that Maria ate 15 pizzas, I could have said, please. Meaning, I don't believe it. It's funny. I often find myself thinking, but this Italian word means so many things! But with some thinking I can find plenty of English words I use for many different things too.
