      @@chelcpaints8810 oh I love the idea of doing a galaxy pour and then doing a single color pendulum over the top of it. And the neon glow in the dark would be crazy beautiful on a black background. I can't wait to see what you do next!!

  • @chucksauter1204
    @chucksauter1204 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One of my favorite effects I've achieved was an off axis pendul. I set up to do a pendulum with multiple containers on the same string but one of the containers I did not put a hole in. I'm still trying to think of a way to do this so that the container not contributing paint alos looses mass at the same rate as the container that does loose mass as it is loosing paint to the canvas

    Found you via Mixed Media Girl and am a new subscriber!
    This technique is like the old Spirograph I had as a child but WAY cooler with much better results.
    I haven’t scrolled completely through; however, is there a video or videos that show your carabiner(s) and how you planned them for each design?
    Best to you!

      @chelcpaints8810  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ooooooh awesome ! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my channel ! A few have mentioned this reminding them of the Spirograph before !! 😍. Actually I’ve only used them a few times ... most of the time I tie the string directly to the keyhole thing ... I’ve only used two axis one time and that’s how we got the square pattern :) I do have a how to video on my TH-cam if you would like to to check that one out 🙂

  • @maryvmcclain
    @maryvmcclain 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Your pendulums are the best I've seen but I really don't understand what made one square and the other round?

    • @chelcpaints8810
      @chelcpaints8810  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The round one was done with one single string attached to the ceiling. And the square one was made using two points at the top making a v shape. Then attaching a main line down. If you get the measurements exactly right and the ratios correct it will make squares. It really is mathematically done. It’s crazy lol

    Hi! Really cool that you got a square pattern! Was this all from one throw of the cup? or did you stop the swing and throw the cup in a different direction? Thanks

    • @chelcpaints8810
      @chelcpaints8810  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi!! Thank you 🙏🏼 🙂 it was from one throw yes! However to get the circle and square I used a different cup with different weights as well as having a different axis point .

    Hi there, your pendulum paintings are so cool. I want to learn how to do it and was wondering does this only work with house paint? I've been trying to do this and was using a black acrylic craft type paint. It just blobs out and leaves dots on the canvas. I tried thinning the paint out with water and it ran a little better but still blobby, not smooth lines but more broken lines. Do I need to use floetrol in order for it to come out smoothly. I'm just using an old canvas right now until I learn how to do it. It would be great if you were able to do a video where you explain about what to use for paint and what consistency it needs to be and if you need to add floetrol or not. Thanks so much for any help and advise you can give. Kate

    • @SerendipitySoulFluidArt
      @SerendipitySoulFluidArt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you should do a galaxy pour on your board first, then do a single color pendulum pour over it - it will look so "intergalactic". I don't know how much paint that will take just for the poured part, but you could ALSO hydro-dip the board after you paint a solid color background and THEN do a pendulum pour over that. You are on fire....don't stop !!!
