+Daniel Duke Thanks for the reply :-) Sorry for the effusion but - among all the lethal obstacles the world sets for new artists - the trap I hate the most is the "marketability" quicksand pit that engulfs so many promising bards. Labels "help" new artists by laboring their early music with smothering orchestral overindulgences that actually appeal to no one. Even Nick Drake suffered (died) from it.
Anyway, I'll stop ranting. The formula is pretty clear. Poetic music is lyric poetry. And it requires the same discipline poetry requires - every component must be essential to the vision of the poem. There's never room for decoration.
If you can hold on to the simplicity of your Tell Me Once track on Bandcamp, (perhaps a tad less reverb? ;-) I am very excited for you. (Though I do hear something sneaky tinkle around behind you in the first minute 30. Careful. ;-)
