I am really enjoying this series, Dan! I understand your nostalgic connection to Resident Evil, as I also grew up with the old games. With every new video you make in this series, I want more and more to go buy this tabletop game! I liked this paint job today. I am really admiring the "simple" models more and more TBH. I find you have a wonderful way of finding little ways (like adding the blue to Brian's pants) to draw out so much character from them, and that's one thing I appreciates about you! And I am really enjoying them myself right now. I must admit, I am beginning to tire of the over-detailed Citadel models right now in my painting journey. Not that they are too difficult for me, I am just in a transition of having more fun painting "simpler" minis. I feel like I have more creative allowances with simpler mini's than I do with Citadels over-detailed (maybe that's the wrong phrase for them?) minis. These Resident Evil models seem to be exactly what I am looking for and having the most fun painting at the moment. For me, I very much enjoy the "simple" models. I have more love for them, they seem more personal after searching for and adding character to add to them, they feel faster in a very good way, as sometimes my minis take too long for me to paint and begin to feel like a chore for me, and that means it's time for me to put it down, and re-approach when I find the fun in it again, and that feeling I don't ever get with "simpler" minis. At 9:42 The mold line really stands out on his shirt sleeve, however, in this case, I like to imagine it not as a mold line on the mini, but as an ironed crease in Brian's shirt, maybe even a permanent crease with a thin line of resin, just like the tailor's do to the trousers when you get your suit tailored and fitted (Because Brian's such a sharp dressed man, lol) I am very guilty of forgetting to, or not seeing, the mold lines in my models and filing them down before I begin to paint, and just like Brian here, I notice them once I wash the model. Those washes really do get in all the tiny little spaces, even the imperfections. This is something I personally really have to work hard on and remember to do before I start, as I am always so very excited to begin the painting process and bring my model to life. However, in this case, I must admit, I kind of liked seeing that mold line... I mean ironed crease in his dress shirt 😉 I would like to say thank you for helping me progress in my painting skills, Dan. I found your channel (seems like a very long time ago now 😊) when I bought "Talisman" and searched YT for a painting tutorial of their minis. There were a couple of channels I watched, but yours really stood out to me. I tried so hard to follow along, and had a great time doing it. There just seemed to be something more personal to your approach in your lessons and videos, and they made me feel like I could do a great job myself. You only had 1 or 2 videos of Talisman characters and that was enough for me to get my feet wet, and fall in love with your channel, my Talisman minis, and the hobby... and I have never left. All of my Talisman characters are long finished and because of your videos, everyone who plays that game with us, admires, comments, and enjoys my completed minis, and I get such a great feeling from their admiration and excitement looking and choosing a character to play with, and I could not have done that without your help. In all honesty and sincerity, their enjoyment of my finished minis is a direct reflection of your videos and help along the way! And I am forever grateful for that, my friend!!! So, in the spirit of our Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend, today, I would like to say I am thankful for you, your channel, your lessons, your support and encouragement, and your continued friendship even if it's just in the comment section here. I am truly thankful for everything you do for us, Dan. As always, much love from us to you and yours, and I will *always* see you in the next one, my friend. Thank you for you time. Cheers! 😁😁💖💖✌✌
This is again a very well worded and lovely comment and again a very positive and constructive review of the little videos on here. It is a very well written and eloquent comment that shows off your kind nature and shows how much of a valued and important part of this channel you are. Without these kinds of fantastic comments the channel wouldn't grow and would struggle to go in the right direction. It is because of you and a few others who have been absolutely brilliant with your comments and the personal touches to your comments that I am able to continue pushing myself to do new things. I have to admit that I feel you are right. There's some times so much detail on a model that it can be daunting and can also slow down your progress of painting large amounts or armies in that style. Sometimes breaking things down and having a slightly more simple model can ignite a little bit of a "fun" painting rather than a perfect or detailed one. These little models are great fun to paint in between projects and can offer something a little different from the normal types of minis that I would normally paint. It's so much fun to build up the nostalgia and to paint these models in there original colour schemes and that adds so much to the process and the element of fun too. Painting for me is all about fun and trying new things and it's not something I ever wanted to become a chore. I absolutely love your idea of the mould lines being a little crest in his shirt and that adds so much more to his little character. Now that you've mentioned that it will always look like that to me. Mould lines are something that I have a bit of a mixed bag with to be honest. I try to take them off some models but some can be a pain and some I don't even really notice too much in myself. Not forgetting some of these models are very small and when being played with in a game might not be noticeable too much anyways. As I said before the painting process for mess all about having a relax and having a bit of fun rather than worrying about every tiny little detail. I am so, so happy to know that the little videos have been something you have continued to enjoy and I couldn't be happier to know that you were able to use some of the tips, tricks and techniques on your own models and even more so to have your friends say how good they look is truly fantastic! I am humbled to know that you have been able to use this channel to continue and enjoy your painting adventures and love that you are happy with the paintings you have created too. Over here in the old mountainous lands we don't have a thanksgiving day, but I will honour your traditions and culture by also saying how thankful I am to you. For always making such a positive, constructive and creative input to my little video channel here. Thank you for always talking to myself and others in the comments section as friends and for always being respectful, kind and well mannered in all that you do. Keep being you and always looking to improve and have fun with your paintings. Thank you as always my friend from the land of the dragon. Take care over there in Canada and I will see you on the next one!
Hey Mohawks, I responded to your issue concerning mold lines. You may find it helpful. Looking forward to more of your insightful comments. Take care friend
I will try my best but I don’t have the resident evil 3 game just yet. I will hopefully be picking it up in future and will 100% be doing that one first! Glad your enjoying the res series of videos my friend 👍🏻 Thanks for watching
Thank you again my friend that is very kind of you. I’ve really been enjoying bringing these characters to life one at a time. They remind me of playing the game years ago and it’s such a nostalgia trip.
Hello my friend I use a range of different brushes when painting but most of them are cheap synthetic brushes. I like to use a size 1 or size 0 brush form my most common parts of the painting but the higher details I tend to use a 5/0 as this has a very fine point. I hope this helps you my friend. Thank you so much for dropping by and watching.
Looks great Brian Irons . An another cool painting demonstration . Thumb up Dan .
Thanks you very much! Very much appreciated 👍🏻

Love this series? Can you do one of painting Jill Valentine? I have a miniature myself but I need some guidance!

Sorry if this has been clarified before but what kind of brush are you using there for the details? The one with the white handle
