I’m a 19 year old black boy, at like 12 my hair had been down my back but it wasn’t being taken care of cause my family split up at this time and I had no idea to do it myself. So I had it all cut off, I just started growing it back when I turned 18, and I knew the only way I could manage without twists(which I also learned) was to cornrow, after watching your video a year ago and saving it , I eventually did learn how to braid, and now I do mine, my mother’s and my little sisters hair(and quite nicely I may add ;)) I just came back to thank youfor your help!! god bless!

It's easy guys! Within a year I learned to cornrow nicely. I up my skill by doing my kids and their father hair, in cornrows all the time. Now I'm increasing it more. By doing my own hair in cornrows as go to style.
Just warning! Doing cornrows is tiring but on your own head is more tiring. Doing it on real people hair and not a mannequin is the best way for me. I had three heads to braid lol. Had all my practice time there.

I’m Latina and could never braid, even the most simple. Lol. My boyfriend with 4C hair just asked me to braid and not to let him down. May the good lord be with me!!! Lol

Blow out your hair before braiding, it'll make the braids cleaner, neater, and easier to do.
That is so true. It's just a lot easier to deal with when you blow it out first. Less knots.

+Nina sorry for the late reply. But any stretching works. You don't even need to stretch it all the way, so if you do a blow out you can use the coolest heat setting to reduce any damage to your hair.

I'm the opposite. I sometimes dont focus on neatness if it's going under a wig. But with crochet I notice my braids are tighter and more stable when I dont blow dry. Heck my crown is straighter and thinner than rest of hair. I have hard time keeping the braids to stay with out feed in. But I cant do them

Make sure your hair is detangled. Blown out will look sleeker and may be easier as a beginner but as long as it is detangled your braid will still look clean and it will be easy to braid. Add hair in the middle lock he added hair in with the outside strands alternating left and right.

I really wish I could do this on my own head, and even though I know how to cornrow; I always seem to fuck up every time. I honestly think it's bc I don't know how to braid my hair per say.
