  • I'm sorry to hear of John Sykes' passing. He was a great talent.
Here is about 17 minutes of an interview I taped off a local radio station. The band was in town to play the legendary Hammerjacks. This was the 2nd version of the band. He does talk about the Whitesnake breakup. Sharing for the fans. I tried to edit all any music that was played.

Despite living in America, John Sykes never lost his English accent.
    RIP John Sykes 🙏

Thank you, this is priceless 💜 I am glad to hear his side of the story. John Sykes was talented, charismatic and gorgeous. A killer combo that threatened a lot of jealous people, just like David Coverdale.

Omg!!! I've never heard this radio interview! There just isn't much of John's interview out there talking casually about Whitesnake, how some songs came about, etc. so this is a rare find and thank you so much ❤ I still can't believe he left us and feeling the heavy gut wrenching pain, having a hard time getting over... We should keep on celebrating his soulful legacy🎸😎🎶💙

RIP John, what a tragedy what a loss to us all. Love the 1st Blue Murder album. John never got over the Whitesnake debacle, he was one of the best guitarists ever. Blue Murder is the album Slip of the Tongue should have been.

John Sykes will be known in 2000 years! Coverdale...perhaps not. One had originality, who could fill two full roles at once, the other was a beefed up Robert Plant with greater high end resonance. Coverdale could sing. I'll give him that, but so could Sykes!!! John's raw, nuclear chops on the strings were bloody STUNNING😢

DC locked in his car blaming the label. Killed his own career trajectory ultimately.
