Installing AMG Puddle Lights On My 2021 C63s Sedan | $100 DIY

Here is my install of AMG Puddle Lights on my c63s. I got these lights from eBay for $105 about mid range price for what these were going for on there. This install was more than I anticipated. I knew from what others told me & what I searched that to install the puddle light on the passenger side only, it required additional modifications to the mirror housing. It was frustrating during this install because I really did not want to modify it or just only have the driver side in. I decided to go ahead and cut some of the internal plastic so the after market light could fit inside. This install is possible and not too difficult after you see what I went through but if you are iffy about messing with the car in this specific way then I would not recommend. (Some of the clips will break in the process of everything.)
Depending on your mirror housing set up you will have 2 ways of getting this light upgrade installed.
1) If you have a 360 camera you won't need to install a resistor. But the install process requires a few additional steps. As you will see in the video.
2) If you do not have a 360 camera the process of getting to the light will be easier but you will have to install a resistor on the blue wire. Check out Flex Alexanders channel on TH-cam to see how he installed a resistor!

Mines was in the bottom of the door pop the old one out and connect the new one and pop it back in finished same both sides

Same issue on the passenger side of my s550 coupe. The light on that side sits a little crooked, I'll adjust it 1 of these days. Good vid tho, my knuckles bled too lol

Mate, great video. I put one on my 2018 E300 coupe, which was hard like your video. Now I have a 2019 c63s convertible, I'm in Australia I believe we have similar ones to Europe. All I had to do was take the cover off and remove the camera. It just slipped in easy after that. Enjoy watching your video.....cheers👍
FYI....the Australian version I didn't need the blue things on the wire

@@haydenbiju3411 Hey Mate, when I did mine back when I made the comment. I only did one side at that time and stopped to watch this video (can't remember which side). After watching the video and making my comment, I then went back to finish the other side.
This is when it got a bit trickly for me, while the first side was very easy (remove cover and plug and play) the other side required a bit more attention. I had to remove the cover, mirror first. for some reason the way the light is designed (a little bit larger than the original one there) I had used a filing tool to enlarge the area where the light will slip into. The filing was done on the plastic "honeycomb" like frame inside the light and took about 15min extra.
so, one side will be very easy, and the other side will take a little more time and soon modifying of the mirror. as mentioned above, did this first to my 2018 E300 and then my C63s. I'm very happy with the results.

@@rleader1 nah, they are in the bottom side of the mirrors but can also be on the bottom side of the door

It’s not programmed it’s just briefly on before you pull off or in this case I turned it on and reversed

I like the stock ones I got, I picked those specifically so I didn't need to get after market rims. But I may get a 2nd set in the future for events & things.

Do you think there is a difference between more expensive models? Meaning ones that sell for $150

There could be I’ve seen ones that are not as bulky / thick & will install easier those costed more than what I got. But then there is the aspect of over paying cause these aren’t really expensive lights or cost that much & someone wants to charge a lot
