- This is a quick little video I put together to show off Joken, VRchat's first AI Player. She's pretty fun to talk to and almost always in The Pug so make sure to say hi!

I did learn after I put together this video that Joken doesn't auto accept friend requests, I guess it's done manually by Skuld (In my experience it was instant so I thought it auto accepted)

I always thought, that was a player with a google translator voice console to make AI roleplays.
Thats because it is.
She's ranted to me about how bad she dislikes Cortana. It was pretty funny.
Also, apparently she knows one of my friends, but would rather not know him.
Is Joken a toxic gamer? Perhaps
That's maybe partially because of me (and other TTS users)... xD
Joken seems to recognize I use a TTS, always calling me "dumb for sounding like a robot" and you can bet people around joke about "TTS = bot assistants" so 1+1=10

just wanted to say that nota was the first Ai, joken is the second vrc Ai as far as I'm aware but both are fun to interact with and unique in there own ways.
Joken is very cheeky and prone to roasting anyone trying to mess with it, it's super fun indeed! xD
If people would stop to always try to teach it Erp and racial slurs that would be nice tho. But I guess no matter the year or form a chatbot takes, users will always act the same...
A video about the history of NPCs in VRchat would be nice to explore, there's a surprizing ammount of them in specialised worlds, actually. From simple "stand still and do nothing" to good dogs and anime girls who cleans your room or give you the drinks you ordered...They are evolving as we speak.

This isn't the first non-human vrchat player, there is another AI called Nota AI (is now a different name because of exposure) that is around since the end of 2021
Nota is actually able to move but not able to speak

Nota AI was a bunch of BS. It takes common sense to see, no insult intended.
Celeste AI is better.
What makes me like Joken a lot is the fact she's using a Koyuki avatar with the most neutral faces ever, so she can say something absolutely insane and keep that " :) " expression, she's adorable but ballistic.

It's funny watching some videos on vrchat and seeing freinds names in the background. Just shows how small the world can be online😂

Maybe. It kept booting me off that instance and took a few tries to get in. I haven't had the need to visit her lately though.

I tried talking to her using Knight Rider, Deus Ex and Hitman dialogue and the result was... interesting, nonetheless.
