@42:00 Watching this video with expert commentary is so much better. It made me aware of how good Efren is positioning the cue ball. Possibly 4 balls before the needed shot. Kudos to the commentators. Top notch knowledge.

Efren is the best ever, he's owned Earl many times. Efren's kicking and saftey game is simply on another level. You can't play chess with this guy, you start playing safeties with efren and ur done, gg.

Earl beat him more times than Efren beat Earl. Earl has his number. Look up the matches before you spew bullshit.

    • @ugaugauga488
      @ugaugauga488 ปีที่แล้ว

@@CarlCramer88 Earl is better in 9-ball while Efren in 8-ball, One-Pocket and carom, as per the records and history. Earl doesn't have his number. He just is a stronger guy and has a stronger break in 9-ball, where that is critical. And remember that nobody beat Efren in the big money games.

Even Earl Strickland admits that Efren is the best all around player ever. Earl is the best 9ball player, Efren is the best all- around.

    • @ugaugauga488

Yes. That's what the record shows when comparing the two. Earl couldn't even compete in the Derby CC, where Efren beat all the champions in different disciplines.

Do you really think Efren safeties, kicks, banks is lucky? I don't think so, he went for it, he calculated it, he played three cushion so he knows every systems. IMHO maybe Efren got a little lucky but not a pure luck, he went for it and well calculated it. That's why he is the magician!!

So when the commentators say he is about to make a bad shot or choice and then he makes the shot and leaves himself perfect position for the next shot makes me laugh at the guys who think they know more than Reyes! In fact, Reyes is the Greatest Player to ever live and for these clowns to second guess him is ridiculous!

I understand that giving the last ball to your opponent rather than making them shoot it is supposed to be a nice gesture, but I don't like it. You're stealing part of the credit for their victory, even though you only do it at the point when there's no chance your opponent will miss. Plus you have to interrupt them when they're down on the shot, and make a big spectacle about giving them the win, not to mention depriving them of the satisfaction of finishing the rack. Am I nuts?

Efren is my favorite as well. One thing about his game that really stands out to me (maybe no one else has noticed) but even on easy shots and even simple 9 ball shots, he still takes his time, lines up and makes great shots. Lots of players will just aim at the 9 and fire when it's an easy shot. These guys usually make it but Efren is just so intentional about every shot. Great game...

Because with no tied up balls the run-out is actually a higher percentage play. No doubt Gabe would be likely to make the combo if he chose to, which he might have if there were tied up balls preventing an easy run-out. But pro's don't take ANY unneccessary chances 'cause mistakes are so costly at that level.

Reyes needs to decieve his opponent for them to play with him again. efren can purposely loose a money game to let his opponent think that he can beat reyes and when the stakes are raise... taddah!!! all your bucks goes to efrens pocket.

Why do commentators like Danny feel they have to predict the shots? Don’t they commentate or make comments on shots players themselves already decide to shoot? I think this is what commentators should be doing rather than being predictors. For example, before Efren shoots the commentator says, "Efren's going to make a 1-9 combination, no, he made a bank" because a bank is what Efren decided to do. The commentator should have just waited until Efren shot the bank and then made a comment about the bank. Then the commentator actually says what I'm saying about commentating. He said, "I think he had my shot prediction in mind ...." and goes on, but he's saying he's predicting and not commentating unless there's a new definition for commentating which includes predicting. The thing is, the commentator continues to describe about everything occurring on the table - all the positions, shots, movements and resting places of every ball for every shot like his audience are
all blind. Of course, we are not blind, so his commentating gets rather boring to the point of being somewhat irritating. Does anyone have an idea about this?

No Danny there's no foul on a push out you can just roll the cueball 1 inch if you want without hitting a ball or rail or anything the rollout is a total freebie no rules.

@socramzilos haha i know i was being sarcastic. Danny says that or something else to that effect about 10 times per match and its just funny how annoying he is at times

one thing i noticed about these tournaments, is that organizers seems to change the rules to take away advantage of Filipino players, like 1) incorporating the alternate break system , 2) reducing the number of games , 3) players can only break within the box, 4) changing the spot where the balls are set....
one disadvantage of the alternate break system is that it takes away the momentum of the player, alternate break is not that bad because it gives the other player the chance to play and show off his ware, playing the alternate break system would be better if the number of games would be longer to reduce the chance of fluke victories

I don't know if I would place efren as the greatest player of all time. But one title I would give him is the greatest all around billiard player because of his cue ball control. It's a totally different game, but in the game of 3 cushion, some of the champions of the 40's 50's and 60's could run rings around Efren. But in pockets, there are very few better. The only way to beat him is to be on your sharpest game. Very excellent player and one of my idols

@onehundredand37 When you're opponent sets up nicely for the last ball of the match it's considered courteous to "give them the ball" or not make them shoot it.
