I love everything that Jimi Jamison sings. I like to notice the differences in his age, from Target, Cobra, Survivor, to his solo years. I think he looks very different in his later years. There are not many videos, like this, of his between time. It's a favorite look.

Love Jimi and miss his voice! I was always proud to say Jimi was a fellow Memphian as was Elvis. I got to see him once and his voice was fantastic! Nothing he couldn't sing! Singing with the angels now and missed so much!
Jimi’s solo band here is simply on fire! Jeff Adams on Bass is just a beast of a performer, with a fantastic voice to go with him. He and Jimi simply tore up the harmonies onstage. Jamo’s voice is simply a melodic exhibition of excellence. I miss this guy so much, as I think of him often. God bless you Jimi. Your voice remains in our hearts always....
Further to my previous comment, this was a great concert!! Loved hearing Rock Hard live (which came out on a 2022 "Rock Hard" CD) and hearing Jimi sing the Doors', Riders on the Storm. He had so many fantastic songs outside of of the three Survivor albums. Wish there were more videos online of Jimi singing his own songs. Love the close ups. I am just in awe of his voice - the clarity and "live" perfection. I listen to his songs daily. Happy heavenly birthday today, 8/23, Jimi!

Paducah, KY Summer Festival. I saw this show, and it was awesome!!! Also caught Firehouse at this same festival a few years later, and they were awesome also.
The genius of Hal Butler, Bill Marshall and the guitar players--great musicians helping Jimi sound great. Good backing vocals, too, these guys were awesome! Especially enjoyed Jimi singing the Doors.
People always compare Jimi to Steve Perry but let me tell you, Steve Perry was asked which 80s singers he thought were great, he said that guy from Survivor, and Jimi was asked which artist he would like to sing with and he said Steve Perry but, it seems that Jimi was trying to track down Steve, I think it was at the time that Steve was retired from the stage, it's a shame that they didn't get to sing together,
I have to admit that this lineup of musicians, hand-picked by Jimi Jamison, sounded as good as vintage Survivor from the mid-1980s. Who were these guys? While the arrangements are rather different, it's a fine show given the hot weather and the small venue. The Nineties were a bad decade for classic rock bands, chiefly because of the MTV grunge wave. Unless you conformed to the trend, these were the shows you got if you were lucky. Having played in college bands at that time, I can attest to the struggles in finding gigs. Thanks for posting this reminder of a fantastic singer doing Survivor "his way!"
+Jeffrey Leatherwood Considering 'Survivor' now is basically the Frankie Sullivan band with some 22 year old singer, these group of guys would be a huge improvement over anything Survivor has done in years. I forget their names but most of them were on the 'Jimi Jamison's Survivor' album, and if you look at other youtube videos, some of their names are mentioned. Type in eye of the tiger 1995 and that is Jimi's band, some of these names are mentioned. I assume they are all the same as in this show: Jimi Jamison lead vocal, Jeff Miller lead guitar, Jeff Adams bass and vocals, Hal Butler keyboard, and Bill Marshall on drums.

Jeffrey Leatherwood Jimi was and will be the best but this band does not reach ankles to survivor in his best times, the sound of the guitarist is horrible and it is clearly heard that it is out of tune in some songs that is why you can see it tuning the guitar Every time, the drummer in many occasions is out of time and exaggerated in beats could never be compared to Marc Droubay and not to mention the keyboard player, the style of this band is more hard rock, it can work for the style of jim In solitary

Marc is tops, but this drummer played for Hank Jr. for many years and still comes across as solid. Jim Peterik is the best Survivor keyboardist ever, but it was more about the singer. not the song!.
Fantastic video of Jimi with his powerful and soulful vocals. His entire band is great. Bass guitarist, Jeff Adams, has been playing with Mickey Thomas and Starship for over 20 years. Drummer, Bill Davidson, played with Jimi for many years. I'm unsure of the name of the guitarist, but he does some great playing too. I really love listening to anything Jimi sings.🥰
1:11:40 -- Hmm, this kind of unique drum soloing... probably best done on a high stage where people can see you.... otherwise it just looks like you're going down on both guitarists.
Gene Krupa was actually one of the first people I know of to incorporate that into a drum solo. But I suspect the imagery of guys blowing other guys wasn't as prominently in the minds of people in the 30s 40s and 50s. They probably just thought it was cool. But let your imagination take you where you will🙂
