My understanding is that the chest vents are just that: exhaust ports to vent excess heat and gas. I would guess that the small part is a blocker plate, meant to contain the heat in the inhospitable Thunderbolt sector. Hot gas probably doesn't mix with those static lightning discharges.
So, whoever designed this for the anime/manga/whatever, did they make sure to add enough missile pods and shields? Lmao, it makes buster and heavy arms look lightweight. But yeah I really like that backpack regardless, pretty sweet with all its features. The twin beam rifle isn't bad either.
Too true, before the full armor came into being, the heavy arms and buster gundam looked like monsters with their weaponry and armor and overall awesomeness, then this monster of a gundam put them in their place and was one of the most INSANE looking gundams ever. It makes the heavy arms and buster look like children compared to the full armor
I really love this kit. I am a sucker for MB's that have a more industrial, blocky and rough look. And the amount of extras all around the frames makes it gorgeous. This kit is great went it comes to customization, the kit bashing you can use with all it's parts makes is great for someone that want to use it on other kits, specially for competition in 1/100. In any case i can't wait for the the Psycho Zaku in which i hope the backpack with all the things in it's back, won't make it too heavy.
Whenever I'm looking for a new gundam I always make sure to watch your review. It helps alot so to that, thanks! And keep up the great work. I know this video is old but I'm looking at this one next
arm on the base is separate part because you can use one part for supporting the gundam on standing pose with feet touching the ground, and you use two part for posing gundam in air. that's why bandai made the arm two separate part. as far as i know, Bandai include the instruction to use only one part for standing pose and two part for air pose in manual book.
Heroduothecomedian If you were to have it without the backpack, it looks like some evil alternate-reality version of the RX-78-2. I think you could make some awesome dioramas with this kit and the 3.0
this certainly does look much better with all the armor on it. i personally, from seeing the way it looks in multiple different review videos, would NOT display it without the armor.
I was hesitant about it with the lack of inner frame. When you showed the armor being attached, I'm convinced now why Bandai didn't go into detail. Definitely a must buy.
It's worth noting you can take the base down a level by removing one of the pieces and have it more standing than flying. Still for the list price it might as well have included the new Riniscita base. Hopefully the Psycho Zaku will at any rate.
they definitely could have done a better job on that base. it looked like it was starting to bend by the end of the review. I think that was mainly because you used both segments that they included for the arm of the base, it might hold up the kit better with just one. I might get an action base 1 to go with my kit and save this base for another kit since it can accept normal action base connectors.
Ive been debating getting this kit for a long time... I have the HG and love it. Being smaller and lighter, I can get great action poses on an action base. Worried about the stability of the MG, and I hate the joint cover material. So what do the joints look like without it?
Seriously, bandai should use back the ABS parts for the frame and joints, these soft plastic are garbage. This kit seems heavy enough and it's just so wobbly on the base, and the plastic will scratch very easily .....not only this kit, some of the kit that using the same soft plastic have the same issue.
I think they starting doing that with the MG AGE kits. I was disappointed that they used the same type of plastic for the Nu Ver. Ka's frame. The knee always droop down and the kit felt like it wants to topple backwards when standing.
i hope an rg of this kit would be released knowing that there is already a rx-78-1 frame that they can use, though i think it would either be a pbandai or hopefully a regular release.
Great review! Little question: when painting, do you think the extra armour will scratch up the normal armour, thus removing the extra armour is rendered useless....? Thanks ;-)
No kidding..... One should always let the parts dry before assembly.... Fingerprints and such. If you have build the kit, please read the question again, thoroughly this time before answering just to answer a question! And yes, I'm on the fence, love the anime, the suits not so much, but that's beside the point..
Was thinking...Ya think we'll get a MG version of the Atlas Gundam from Gundam Thunderbolt? The ball joints all over it will make it's pose ability extremely interesting.
Well, one thing you can do with this, which I forgot about in the review, is to remove one section of the arm of the base (making it shorter) then that will hold the Gundam up just barely above the ground. works and is very solid. but if you wanted a higher or more dynamic pose then maybe get an action base.
AnyOtherName LikeMashugana And you can also lose a finger. Like what happened to my RX-93 gundam.... I recommend you to not get any ver.KA kits unless you built more than 10 Master grade kits. Because ver.KA always looks so cool, but always have been a pain to handle. My RX-93 looks so awesome, but the hand is so horrible. There is a part about the size of a grain of rice holding the hand which is holding the gun. Which is fucking shit, I fucking hate Katoki Hajime for designing the hand so badly and giving the kit a shit ton of weapons.
@@ZakuAurelius i mean like, if i were to buy it (which i will probably do) and put the armor on, can i then remove the extra armor from the gundam and go back to the regular form as i wish or am i stuck with the full armored form? (Or should i buy two kits then?)
I gotta ask Zaku, do you know of anywhere that I can get a shoulder peg from? I think the part itself is B 43. When I bought my kit it was missing a shoulder peg, so now my Thunderbolt is down an arm lol.
Sorry I'm not sure. If you're living in the US then I think I've heard that Bluefin can help in this case, but I'm not sure. Try contacting them or ask around in Facebook groups.
ZakuAurelius Much appreciated, I've had builders despair ever since I finished the Thunderbolt & don't want to start the Psycho Zaku until the former is fixed.
As much as I like the less complicated design of the Gundam itself, I hate how the backpack feels feels too boxy that looked like pla plate put together... I guess they are taking the design from the gundam itself.
It's Version Ka not ver Ka... special edition's of all mobile suit design or supervised by Hajime Katoki... that's where the Ka, just filling in so that ppl new to this hobby won't look like a fool ...besides that great video
My understanding is that the chest vents are just that: exhaust ports to vent excess heat and gas. I would guess that the small part is a blocker plate, meant to contain the heat in the inhospitable Thunderbolt sector. Hot gas probably doesn't mix with those static lightning discharges.
They should release a MG version of Acguy Thunderbolt Ver w/all the goddamn accessories!
I would sell my soul for this!!!
Hell yea, some of those parts are doable without like the zaku cannon shield, zaku machinegun, but dude the flamthrower and Darryl's sniping gear
Everyone is hyped for the Psycho Zaku but I want to see the Gelgoog Thunderbolt Version. HG or MG I don't care I just love that MS.
Same. Still hoping.
Bandai: "Never"

He go from thin to THICC
Thanks for putting all the work you do into these reviews
You're welcome! Thanks for appreciating them!
That shaking = it’s the vibration on Io’s ass
Zabanya96 thank you this made my day it’s 1 am and I’m laughing really fucking loud

full armor wiggle gundam

Thanks for the review zack, was looking forward to this one, cant wait to dive back in to a solid new master grade!
If you're unsure, The Origin Gundam was amazing!
HG knees are white meanwhile MG is dark blue. That's another different I spot
This is probably my fav mg..it looks so good when u put all the decals
Thunderbolt december's day brought me here.this gundam is so much more bad ass then the RX-78-2
Heroduothecomedian If you were to have it without the backpack, it looks like some evil alternate-reality version of the RX-78-2. I think you could make some awesome dioramas with this kit and the 3.0
still better, than the full armor unicorn MG !!
still i need some Thunderbolt dom
Fingers crossed!
Heyo it’s banajir
banajir_ikimas _v1.0 I would buy this kit but I suck at getting the vinyl sleeves on kits like this one and don't want to go through that hell
Lol, I like the music when it is armored up, you should use that song for every transformation
I can't wait for the Psycho Zaku ver. Ka
when will it come out ? next year ??
December
then i should save some money then
+Nguyễn Bảo Trung december for the pshyco zaku cant wait alreaddy loce that machine
coolguy10060 but how much 8000 yen ?
this certainly does look much better with all the armor on it. i personally, from seeing the way it looks in multiple different review videos, would NOT display it without the armor.
I wonder when I'll be able to get one of this :P
Thanks for the review!

*lack of detail on the inner frame
5 years late I'm building this kit, how has it held up over the years?
I chuckled at your turning stand seemingly struggling to rotate the whole deal
It's worth noting you can take the base down a level by removing one of the pieces and have it more standing than flying. Still for the list price it might as well have included the new Riniscita base. Hopefully the Psycho Zaku will at any rate.
Yeah I forgot about that during filming ㅠㅠ
I think the segmented arm is for ground poses, seeing the the way it was segmented also allow for the connector to be attached.

xxnike629xx
that was my plan.
What a great looking kit painting it def is going to be work
Im getting One tomorrow
That music made my day LOL.
I love the hg it's beautiful out of box tbh
Excited for this to come in, its gonna be my first ver ka (well besides the glorious ball)
Ive been debating getting this kit for a long time... I have the HG and love it. Being smaller and lighter, I can get great action poses on an action base. Worried about the stability of the MG, and I hate the joint cover material. So what do the joints look like without it?
loving the kit
TIME TO BUY LET'S GOOOOOOO
Anybody else keep thinking of the first time you see Darrel test out the Psycho Zaku in the lab?
Seriously, bandai should use back the ABS parts for the frame and joints, these soft plastic are garbage. Is the action base includes with the kit?
Even the Psycho Zaku is very wobbly
Zaku I know I’m hella late but great video I’m really thinking of getting this kit, how has it held up over the years
Well it’s been in the box, but I’m sure it’s fine!
have u repainted this yet?
i hope an rg of this kit would be released knowing that there is already a rx-78-1 frame that they can use, though i think it would either be a pbandai or hopefully a regular release.
3:06 I call it the half-armor thunderbolt
What are your thoughts on the Mg Psycho Zaku?
Well we haven't seen anything of it yet, but I'm always looking forward to a new MG! Let alone a Ver.Ka!
Katoki really did well with his Version Katoki kits. Hahahahaha!
Where do you buy that gunpla
What stand are you using to hold it?
Great review! Little question: when painting, do you think the extra armour will scratch up the normal armour, thus removing the extra armour is rendered useless....?
Thanks ;-)

If you have build the kit, please read the question again, thoroughly this time before answering just to answer a question!
And yes, I'm on the fence, love the anime, the suits not so much, but that's beside the point..
I'd just spray on a couple layers of clear coat so that the extra armor doesn't scratch any paint
Tim, yeah I'm sure you'll have to be super careful about scratching. Best bet is to just pick how you wanna display it and only paint what'll show
Theoreviews Thanks for the input! Much appreciated!!!
ZakuAurelius Got it! Will take that into consideration. Thanks!!!
Love the music :)
Yay! The arm is strong enough!! :D
About the base though, wasn't there a single arm piece unused in one of the runners? Or is that incompatible?
yeah that's not compatible. But what you CAN do it use only one of the extension parts on the base, to make the base shorter and more stable.
Ah, thanks for clearing that up! :D
m(_ _)m
this shouldve come with a much much more sturdier base
Love it! Want it!
If the Reuse P. Device Zaku II Version Katoki is released, the MG Zaku II Origin might soon follow...
Was thinking...Ya think we'll get a MG version of the Atlas Gundam from Gundam Thunderbolt? The ball joints all over it will make it's pose ability extremely interesting.
I doubt it.
Did it come with water slide decals
Yes, as seen in part one of the review (and unboxing)
ZakuAurelius good to know
hope you do oob mg full armor gundam last effort
Hey zak would you be painting this entire Kit?
someday!
hey. how / where do i get that black plastic bah in its joints? help. thanks!
As a kit overall, which of the two do you prefer, this or the full armour unicorn?
I prefer the FA Unicorn, but that's just personal aesthetic choice.
is it possible to bulid the kit without the joint covers. then add them to the kit later on
Jeremy Dias no man, the garbage bag plastic has to be held by parts inside the armor
I WANT ONE! oh can ask zac, does the base connector can be detached then connect to the standard bandai stand 2 or the MG stand?
yeah you can connect it to a regular action base.
not sure but i think you forgot to open the missle hatch on his back skirts... they open as well... 😁😁😁
Yeah didn't bother, lol
hey zach is it worth getting this kit...
yep!
Ok tq.. I'm definitely getting this after my finals
can you build this without the fabric/plastic wrapping?
Nicholas Ng YES
hey Zaku, would you recommend getting a normal 1/100 action base for this kit? i was thinking that a normal base would be more stable.
Well, one thing you can do with this, which I forgot about in the review, is to remove one section of the arm of the base (making it shorter) then that will hold the Gundam up just barely above the ground. works and is very solid. but if you wanted a higher or more dynamic pose then maybe get an action base.
How do I use the stand ? I had to more or less disassemble the whole thing and I’m still lost :/
Is there nothing in the instructions?
Scary that the backpack is larger and more articulated than some HGs
tue troo
+Shrek Ohare too true*
How did u get it on the stand some one pls help
im kinda suprised that a new ver ka kit didnt include a fully articulate hands
those hands are a pain to handle
+matt mateo yeah that's true

can you remove the extra armor on the H.G. version?
no sadly
+Tyrone Hardy Thanks.
this was my second master grade kit it was too hard
Been wondering why they don't release a Rick Dom Thunderbolt Ver its they only one left from that ova i think at least a HG lol
That would be a nice HG kit.
I'm only now realizing the missile pod is incorrect.
Can you remove the extra armor or are you stuck with it?
Part 1 of the review was dedicated to reviewing the kit without the armor on
@@ZakuAurelius i mean like, if i were to buy it (which i will probably do) and put the armor on, can i then remove the extra armor from the gundam and go back to the regular form as i wish or am i stuck with the full armored form? (Or should i buy two kits then?)
@@cocobill0077 You can.
I’m thinking about building this kit but I don’t know a lot about it
Does this use water slide decals
In includes them, but of course using them is optional
ZakuAurelius thanks for letting me know and keep up the good vids
I gotta ask Zaku, do you know of anywhere that I can get a shoulder peg from? I think the part itself is B 43. When I bought my kit it was missing a shoulder peg, so now my Thunderbolt is down an arm lol.

That is such a pain to put on all the armour.
after 1 year i still havent researched or found out what ver.ka is
Ver. Ka stands for Version Katoki (in other words a shit ton of decals)
It's short for Version Katoki, with Katoki being the name of the person who redesigned older MG kits.
o.o seems like a decent kit
no led socket was unexpected
hi, can you please review akatsuki gundam mg.
So its just like the armed armor DE but makes you fatter?
I agree with you. The HG's shield arms are so basic when compared to these.
my guy building a space robot and he plays this music
lol couldn't even do Jazz for the armor mounting huh? lol jk. Are there actually polycaps in this kit or is it similar to the 2.0?
zaku i bought the phantom gray from mrcolor gundam color a month ago, and now its like white inside and it smells terrible, what do i do
mix it as much as you can, I dunno.
+ZakuAurelius but it's like pure white ;(
damn those micro-missiles will just rain JUSTICE FROM ABOVE.
sorry to much Overwatch :/
death from above if you’re with halo
Hybrydatp64 yes.... just yes
福ニコラスNicholas yes
Reminds me of the duel gundam
At least I get to see someone do a part 2
It took me 2 hours to just build the arms. I was so OCD that I made sure the wrinkles of the cloth are identical of both arms.
Yeah it takes a while!
9:27 His phone starts to vibrate xD
xxnike629xx Hmm, like what? A... omg.
Gundam thunderbolt set to bluegrass and not jazz. DOWNVOTED
jk great job like always
Come on! Give us the GM!!!!
1:08 no jazz
this banjo music I must know
As much as I like the less complicated design of the Gundam itself, I hate how the backpack feels feels too boxy that looked like pla plate put together... I guess they are taking the design from the gundam itself.
I kinda came here since mecha gaikotsu didnt post the armour review :/
Its a pain to get the armor on especially the feet
Please tell me your wrist band said “remember reach”
Hybrydatp64 no, “remember 20140416” regarding the sinking of the Sewol ship in Korea
ZakuAurelius ah history lesson
It's Version Ka not ver Ka... special edition's of all mobile suit design or supervised by Hajime Katoki... that's where the Ka, just filling in so that ppl new to this hobby won't look like a fool ...besides that great video
lol what's wrong with saying "ver ka"? I think that's widely understood to mean 'version'
It says Ver. KA on the box....
