- Here's the High-Grade 1/144 scale High Mobility Type Zaku II "Psycho Zaku" [Gundam Thunderbolt Anime Ver.]. This is an impressive kit to be sure! Certainly one of the best-looking Hg kits just straight out of the box. Obviously limited a bit in it's articulation and posing options, but still highly recommended kit!

You do know that unlike in the many Hollywood movies, it actually takes quite a lot of force impact to detonate a warhead?
Honestly considering how often Zeon forces kamikaze their.... everything, it probably makes sense.
It even has thrusters on the mounted shield, the Psycho Zaku is a real piece of work.
I think the underlying design idea for this thing was 'Let's take the Zaku Hi-Mobility Type R2, and crank it up to 11'.

I think the HG Gundam Thunderbolt line is just amazing, but it needs the Guncannon, Gouf and Atlas Gundam.

I recommend using Model Master liquid cement to glue those thruster bells to keep them from falling off a lot.

Now that we're almost at the end of 2018, do you notice any warping at the waist ball joint? I got the feeling that the massive weight at the back is going to do that over time.
I'm one of the people who likes to put main weaponsin the left hand since i'm left handed so i appreciate the inclusion of left trigger finger hands
My friend bought this and the full armor gundam. He said building the full armor was a lot easier than the psycho zaku

It's just an upgraded version of the Zaku High Mobility Type, but with a lot more weaponry.
And a thicc backpack
But a downgrade for a non disabled pilot.

Very good point about the necessity for an additional support piece on the base. It really needed a connector on the backpack instead. Would you say there is any long term chance the torso would come loose from the strain of holding up the backpack? Should I just glue in in place for additional support?
You could put some glue in the mid-section yeah!
Working on building this right now and i plan on repainting all of the orange pieces since they kind of look very plastic-y. All of those thruster bells seems fun as first but now i'm just realizing they are kind of a pain in the butt.

Hi, Zak, are the thrusters of these compatible to RG MK-II in the backpack? I've lost one vernier.
That's one bad ass Zaku. That's alot of tiny thrusters to cut and sand.

So, with the weight thing, where because of the backpack it leans back, does it mean it can break???

The plastic power cables and how they can bend are part of the reason why anytime I have to use those on Parts like the abdomen or the legs I replace them with old hair ties that are stretched out because it's got the braided fiber on the outside that looks almost like a sheathing for a power cable and it's more flexible
With me the middle part broke the part where the hoses to attach i could not get it on there properly

that's just color in the plastic. Once it's painted that won't show at all.

Very slight differences. Nothing in terms of different parts.
I make mine standing by itself using the lower back cannon as as "stand"

the kit includes optional vinyl cloth covers for the joints, they are optional so you don't have to use them if you don't want to and honestly they don't look very good.

I'm sure the kit will be great. you don't have to worry about anything. it uses normal joints just like any other MG kit, they just give you some vinyl tubes to cover them, similar to the Bandai Patlabor Ingram. www.dalong.net/review/etc/ingm/ingm_p.htm

a 2.0 wouldn't change anything. the MG Full Armor Thunderbolt Gundam is a new kit and as such it's up to modern standards. plus fully articulated hands wouldn't help any, the interchangeable fingers are designed for holding heavy weapons. and yeah it's a brick no question about that but it being a brick is the point, that's the whole point of full armor Gundams. you don't buy them to do dynamic poses, you buy them to stand there and look badass while covered in a shitload of weapons.
A part of my pipe on mine broke to. I think you have to warm it up first.

Cleaning thruster bells seems to be your nemesis.

Get yourself a drill and a polycap for that
Don't even really need a polycap. Just a drill and knife to cut a hole at the base of the backpack to fit on an action base connector.
+ZakuAurelius Yeah, but the polycap would make the connection tighter than just plastic rubbing against plastic.
I'm just considering the fact he said he's a "noob" so building a small housing to fit a polycap might be above his skill level. Just a plastic-on-plastic connection may not be as pretty but it will hold it just fine.

Sorry to hear about your brother dude. All I can say is you'll have to keep looking for your lost piece. there's not really any way to get a replacement. Another options would be getting a set of Kotobukiya MSG option thruster parts and using those instead.

If you're living within Metro Manila (PH), saw some of MSG parts on ToyTown Glorietta Mall 1 (Makati), Toy Kingdom SM Makati & G/F SM Mega Mall (Pasig city). Hope you can find the thruster parts you need. Otherwise go the mecca of Gundam kits at Greenhills mall X-D
