- The M12 Motorway will be the gateway to the Western Sydney International airport.
It will connect to the M7 at one end and the Northern rd at the other.
This interchange/flyover is an massive undertaking.
The infrastructure for the Airport is nearly bigger than the Airport itself when it first opens.

Massive, Be glad when all is complete. Good coverage thank you.
Looking good JayDog. Thanks for the video.
No problem
Thanks BJD. Great to see it progressing so well. Would be great to see a full fly through of the whole M12 and connection to the airport. Cheers
Big Ask but maybe one day
I reckon it'll be ready to drive on by next year at this rate !
It looks like the federal government has put the funding back in the budget for the M7 to M12 flyover. Great video - Thanks BYD.
Cheers
Nope. That money has gone to their surplus! The funding would have come from the NSW Govt to overcome the gap.
Nice update. I go through the M7/M12 construction fairly regularly. It's fascinating to watch the way they launch the sections of elevated roadway. Just a thought, next time you are down at WSI airport, I noticed there is construction of the freight facility at the southern end underway.
Have driven past the runway approach on Elizabeth Drive in the evening a few times. Occasionally they have the full runway and high intensity approach lighting (HIAL) switched on. The lighting is multi-stage for different conditions, and I suspect it was turned up to the highest level (usually used for very low vsibility approaches) - it was seriously bright in the direction that aircraft approach.
Yes I am planning on doing the freight facility it looks quite big , the lights would be awesome to catch , cheers

M7 should've been 6 lanes from day 1... When will they ever learn?
Totally agree , when it was getting built knew u had to be 3 lanes
Probably never. Given the growth of Western Sydney and the plans for the airport etc, I would have though 4 * 4 should have been done, but at least 3 * 3 as you say.
We have the same problem in Perth. Things left for years like Roe Fwy that can't cope with the traffic and still has intersections with two other freeways on along its route that cause massive tail backs.
Great video as always BJD!
Smart thing would’ve been 4-5 lanes straight away back in the day. Now it’s just costing lot of extra bucks and because of the roadworks it’s absolutely shocking and they’re not shy to raise tolls every so often 🤦♂️
@@MrCzech78 transurban raises the tolls by 1% every quarter, and the M7 toll expires in 2051. if you do the maths, the max fare for a single trip for A CAR on the M7 in 2051 will be $29.50...
@@bishbash6087 don’t believe everything they prescribed to you. I’ll bet you even took some covid shots that’s how confused you sound here.
You probably right 4% annually but don’t forget to put inflation and other factors in your equation.
Hope it turns out better then the Rozelle interchange
Bad idea dumping M12 traffic onto the M7 where when it was opened should’ve been done 3-4 lanes each way straight away.
Will the M12 ever continue straight to Sydney CBD on one side and Silverdale on the other?
That would make too much sense….
Also when is the new M9 gonna go ahead? Again common sense would be before the new airport opens… at least between Campbelltown and Richmond for now.
