    Tim's low bass voice and Tim is my favorite bass singer and Austin is my favorite high tenor. Home Free did a great job on Hillbilly Bones. Chance did a great job to. Adam did a great job on beatboxing.

    Saw a comment for Home Free’s take on Elvira - that’s one where you’ll appreciate his vocal percussion & ability to maintain a prominent beat. I’m jealous of his breath control.
    What I appreciate about this song - outside of Tim’s bass - is how foot stomps were used for greater impact. Thinking outside of the box for this song instead of his usual strong snare sound.

    This was one of Adam Chance's "introduction videos" after he replaced Chris Rupp.
    When Home Free kicks in, you can FEEL the instruments that aren't there. They are THIS solid in person. They are this powerful.

    Important to note: the ladies in the Home Free videos - the main ones, are the wives and girlfriends of the band mates. They like to include them as opposed to random people.

    Even funnier if you know that Chance, playing the city boy from New York, is actually from Alabama.
    Tim is from a small town in Texas, and Austin is from a small town in Georgia. Rob and Rupp are the "city boys" from suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
    I've seen HF live three times so far. Highly recommend the experience.

    I should point out as an inside joke that Chance is the most hillbilly of the group but played the city slicker in the video. He grew up in rural Alabama. Tim grew up in a small town in Texas.
    Rupp and Rob live in suburbs in Minnesota and Austin grew up in the city in Georgia.

    This performance definitely pulls in a whole lot of rural American symbolism. Love it! ❤

    They throw this one in at their concerts sometimes. Omg! Last year when I saw them, The crowd went wild. Everyone was standing, stomping and singing. I’m sure everyone out in the casino could hear us. 💕🎶

    I remember how thrilled I was when Home Free released this one not long after I saw the original that was released from Trace Adkins with Blake Shelton. I had seen theirs since I was familiar with Blake being on the Voice. I knew then that Home Free should record this one and I was so elated! Home Free is the real deal! They are incredible live! They don’t just do fun videos. They’ve recorded some great serious and social conscious videos, as well as some love songs, and cutesy ones, too!

    The irony of this being the song that really got me into Home free is not lost on me. It did really find my hillbilly bone 😂 I think it’s a bone in my neck as I can never stop bopping my head when this song plays. Also how fun does a “hillbilly” party look (coming from someone from somewhere that doesn’t have a southern feel, farm parties are a whole other world in Scotland haha)

    Thank you for the really fun reaction. I hope you get a chance to catch an actual live performance sometime. You will never forget it, and never regret it, if you do. If you buy a "meet and greet" ticket, you can actually meet Adam Rupp and probably have a GREAT time comparing your two methods of beatboxing. I wish I could be a fly on each of your shoulders at such a time of discussion! 😀

    Yeah it’s a good one. Funny when you know that the guy they pegged as the city slicker was Chance, who’s really from the sticks of Alabama! He’s more country than the others. Good dancing, great beatboxing and great deep singing by Tim and great harmonies by the boys. Fun one! A really fun one is Brother where they’re larping!

    Love these guys so much. What a fun song! This is a great one when you are down & need a lift. And always extra special hearing Tim's low notes. Chance is playing the city slicker but he is the most country of the group. He grew up in the sticks.

    Quick point of interest: Tim worked to HELP Geoff from Voiceplay developed HIS subharmonics. Avi from PTX is also connected with Home Free... Check out the HF cover of Ring of Fire (not the Song Off version)

    I'm no expert on singing, but I think I read somewhere that Tim doesn't use subharmonics to hit those low notes. He uses some vocal fry and I think that makes it even more impressive. Can someone who knows more about these two technics tell us more?

    • @jimhester1205
      @jimhester1205 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I just googled it and found out it's not vocal fry, it's growl.

    • @barbarakennedy2667
      @barbarakennedy2667 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Tim taught the growl technique to Geoff Castellucci, but I don't think he uses it very much.@jimhester1205

    • @jimhester1205
      @jimhester1205 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@barbarakennedy2667 I think I did hear that before, but my short term memory sucks and I have to wait for someone to remind me. Geoff is so good with the subharmonics that I can understand he doesn't use growl very often.

    • @justann1358
      @justann1358 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Tim uses vocal fry a lot and sometimes the growl technique. But vocal fry is definitely his signature sound imo

    • @dagmar.6954
      @dagmar.6954 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I much prefer Tim's low growls over the other guys who use subharmonics. It sounds just like burping low. Very annoying. That is why I am not a fan of Geoff & others who use it. Great basses such as Tim Foust, Avi Kaplan & Elliott Robinson do not use subharmonics.
