- I had always been overwhelmed by my never-ending & always growing yarn stash! It started to get to the point where it was stressing me out more than it was inspiring me!
Well, I found a system that works great. It’s not only extremely functional, but it look beautiful as well. Stop letting your stash overwhelm you and start getting inspired by it again!

Lol I just watch this video and honestly, I love you to the moon and back. Your adhd is at all high voltage here but you are too adorable. I tried one of those machines and cannot do any bulky like bernat for nothing in the world. I do organize by type and not color. Like #4 acrylics, #4 wools, #6 bernat, #6 premier, #5 juicy couture and so on. But I love you so much.

Just a tip I started doing when I got my yarn winder. Right before you pull your cake off the spindle, fold your label up and hold it so that as you pull the cake off, the label ends up in the middle so if you forget what yarn it is or the color, etc., you have all the info with the yarn.

OMG, this video was so fun and SO heloful! I just started using cubbies and it's a game changer. Also, I loved seeing how you create a plan when you get overwhelmed, because I get overwhelmed a lot, not just when I'm organizing my yarn, but often when I'm trying to do business planning or when I'm trying to figure out what to work on in my business. Love this so much! Your fun happy attitude just makes watching your videos so enjoyable! Also a tip I learned is to use those snap hair clips on the outside of my yarn cakes. They work so well at keeping the end from starting to unravel. 😊

2 easy storage tips. #1 - after 'caking' your yarn, roll up the label and shove it into the center so that you will have the info later. #2 - for those pesky yarn tails that make all of your hard organizing work look messy, just take a regular bobby pin and use it to hold the tail to the cake/skein/ball. Easy peasy :)))

Love it! I would do it like this, but I don’t have much yarn and not much storage lol. About 5 of those storage cubes of different weights and textures. I’ve dedicated a whole one to just the velvets and it makes me so happy-
I also organized it just before watching this lol-
And I didn’t know that about velvet yarn, I may or may not have taken the label off of three of them-

My first cake was not at all so nice. Good thing I have a lot of yarn to practice with.
I organize my books by color because it's esthetically pleasing. I'm at the moment in the middle of a yarn fiasco which is why I'm here. I will say when anything becomes a tangled mess, if it takes more than a moment I break it off and put it in a scrap bag to use as stuffing, stitch markers, or a scrappy project. It has to be hidden though because it's not pleasing.

You can take a photograph of yarn on your phone. So you can have a real awareness of your stock.
Hey dont know If you ever Used this but i make a slip knot in the Free end and put a stitch marker thru it and clip it on the bundle on a few strants. Never had any loosening or tangles anymore.

I roll all mine by hand ty for showing how the yarn winder works ill def look into one. Do you use acrylic yarn for anything or is velvet and blanket what you use
I rarely use acrylic mostly because I love how soft the velvet and blanket yarn is 😍
@@camryns_cute_creations I been using acrylic cause it's cheaper and been told even though the velvet and blanket looks like bigger rolls there is not as much in one so there for you would have to buy 2 rolls of it for the same as one roll of acrylic is that true
I used to have my yarn in colour coded tubes, but recently switched to separated by yarn weight (ply) because then if I want one project but multiple colours the one tub will have all the same types of yarn and then I can just grab the colours I want instead of having to jump between multiple tubs looking for matching weights etc. But this is only a VERY recent change and there is still so many unsorted/uncaked yarns I am just ignoring

Can your yarn winder wind regular, thick Bernat blanket? All of the ones I’ve looked at can only do half of the skein or just straight-up won’t work.
I've winded the bernat blanket but only partial skeins, I don't know if this one would hold an entire skein! I'll have to try it sometime!

I've seen people keep the label and attach them after caking :) But honestly I use a lot of the same colors so I can usually remember!
