That’s a great looking bike James. Love that colour. 😍 I’d imagine it’s far more comfy than the Venge? Do you notice the loss of the 1lbs? Any chance of a review from a real world bloke?👍🏻 Blessings from England. 😎👍🏻
Thanks! Yes, it’s more comfortable than the Venge. I’ve noticed less fatigue on my body after rides on the SL8 versus the Venge. The bike weighs about 2lbs less than my Venge. The weight difference is noticeable upon acceleration and when riding out the saddle. It’s also more aero as the Venge. I’ll do a review video soon. I’ve ridden 600 miles on the SL8 so far so I think I’m approaching enough SL8 experience to do a review.
Beautiful. I’m hung up whether to go sram or Shimano. That color is stunning in person but I think I’m going to go with the SRAM version so I can swap batteries on this and my mtb in a bind. How tall are you? Might be the angle but you make that bike look small bro! I’m 6’2” and the ones I’ve thrown my leg over need some adjusting so I don’t feel like I’m stretched all the way out!
I'm 6'2'' and I went with a 58cm to be able to slam the stem. I could have gone with a 56cm but it would have been a stretch. Also, stay away from SRAM in road biking as much as you can. I'm changing my new bike because of this. AXS is horribly slow at shifting and I have chain drops every now and then even if everything is adjusted to specs. Getting a black SL8 Pro equipped with Ultegra DI2 in a few days. I can't wait to go back to DI2. Bye bye AXS.
@@Eduskator how’d you finagle that? The color is what I want most lol. They did say the newest force address a lot of the drop issues. It’s def going to be slower on the front since it has to confirm you want to shift the front ring. I’ve had Shimano and it’s great. Can’t lie about that!
@@kentao4 here's a picture of the build with the steerer tube cut! It is a wonderful bike. It weighs 7.3kg. Pretty good for a 58cm frameset! cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikeforums.net-vbulletin/2000x1504/tarmacsl8pro2024_b5e5a408a9d8eecc635e90c16e39187611d46def.jpg
Size 58 is 16.5 lbs without pedals, water bottle cages. When I add pedals, water bottle holders, air pump, tire levers, saddle bag, 2 spare tubes, and Garmin the weight is 18.5 lbs.
@@beastoncycleInteresting, if you check out some of the older builds on s-works tarmac sl7 the 16.5lb weight is almost identical. And most of those builds are sizes 54 or 56, so the claimed weight of 780g for sl8 10r frameset is less than an s-works sl7 12r carbon.
As nice a bike as this is.. I just can’t get over how it costs $8500 when a Cannondale SuperSix evo similar spec is $5500. But hey if you know what you want and you got the cash who cares right? 😂
I agree about the price. The first day the bike was released I hesitated on buying it cause of the price. I placed the bike in my cart on Specialized website about 2 hours after the bike went up for sale. I wanted to research and compare models. Literally an hour later all the Pro model bikes were sold out in my size. The next day around midnight some more Pro models were available on the Specialized website. I rushed to buy it before it was sold out. By the next afternoon all the Pro models in my size were sold out again. I’ve been checking everyday since I bought the bike and they have not had any Pro models in size 58 in this color for sale. The price is high compared to other brands with specs, but folks are buying this mid range model of the SL8 faster than the cheaper Expert model.
You spent that much money on a bike, and he couldn’t afford a bike stand to prop it up? Additionally, is that a bike pump? I see attached to the front bottle cage? I’m sorry, but I’m not impressed….
Congratulations on your new bike 👍
Thanks!
Happy for you brother! I'm from northern Va. originally. Living in MN now. Enjoy, beautiful bike! Just bought a Scott Speedster Gravel.
Nice color
Looking to get a tarmac expert soon
One of the best colours.
What a beast bike tho 🔥
it looks wrong without the new integrated stem and handlebar
I don’t think so - a Tarmac is timeless!
It definitely needs the new intergrated bar and stem.
Fine bike man. Congrats!
Thanks!

Mate that’s a great looking bike. Loving that colour. Is that the Satin Blue Onyx/ Black?
Thanks! Yes, the color is the satin blue onyx with black logos.
Excellent bike choice looks great
color is yummy
Nice bike. What's the size?
Thanks! Size 58.

@@kentao4 I found a shop that was willing to swap all components from a green SL8 Pro DI2 to a black SL8 Pro AXS👌🏼 I think I was lucky!
@@Eduskator nice. My shop gives me a good break on price but I don’t know if I can convince them to swap!

The only way this bike looks okay with this bar and stem combination,is if the stem is slammed.
